Guest guest
Stacie: You are wrong. the special people in this group are the youngest members. They are the ones who have not yet had a chance to do the things in life that we all want to do, yet they are faced with the same physical limitations that we old geezers are. There is not one of us that doesn't read your e-mail and think how fortunate we are that we did have all those years to live normal and relativcely unrestricted lives before we learned about AICD's. And you e-mail is a reaffirmation of the indomitable human spirit, the wonders of what makes up a human being. And I am sure that all of us have wondered how well we would have done, how much lemonade we would have made, had we been your age when someone decided to stick the Energizer Rabbit into our chests. You see, Stacie. You--and all the other young people amongst us--are the ones we do not know what we would do without. I hope you understand that despite your youthful age, despite your physical limitations, despite any of the material restrictions that might befall you, you have demonstrated that it is indeed you who controls your life. You have not let your AICD keep you from having one of the greatest life experiences one can possibly have--the closeness, the affection, the respect that human beings can share if they are willing to just try. You have done all of that on line. There are countless adults who go through their entire lives without ever knowing what that is like. Husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, parents and their children, there is no guarantee that they will ever know what you share with those around you. And you share all of that because you have worked so hard to live your own life. We salute you. Bill PS: All that nice gushy stuff doesn't mean that I'm not going to tell you my bad jokes. You have to suffer just like everyone else. ----- Original Message ----- From: rcsejt@... bill when i read your email i cryed but i laught i'm not sure i understand but i know that i envy every one on this group for one you have did thangs that i have never dreamed of i feel like i will never be able to stand tall or as you said have wisdom i beleave wisom is somethang you have to do what it take make mistaes to get to a point where you can look back on life and sit and say oh wow i did this but for me wisdom comes at a big price i mean i dont regret being sick or regret have this defibrllator because i feel it has showen me thangs i my never had known or learned without being sick no i dont want to be sick but i geuss somewhere deap inside i feel that if sickness has gave me the chance to meet all of you the i would reather be sick and know that there are some minny strong and loving people out there if i had my life to live over and could life it without health probloms i dont thank i would because i feeel th! at my health probloms have showen me so much that i would go crazy without thim BILL i can't thank what life with out knowing you would be like you are so importen to this group and to me i feel like you are like a back bone without you we would fall big time BILL i wish that i could grow up like you exapct be a women but i admirer you and the rest in this group i know that some days i wake up and hope i would die just so i did not have to live wwith theese chanlnages but i read my email and there is a email for you you have a stranth and personallity that i wish i had i my be as my freinds say wired and crazy but if they had to live with what i had i know they would be i woke up this morning once again in pain and i did not know what to do i just want out for some reason i feel i cant handle this any more we are about to lose or house strave and lose everythang i know these are probloms for my mom and dad but i feel like i should do more they telll me all i do is put stress! and worrie on thim and what they owe is my falt because of what happen when i was little and my health probloms and in alot of ways i'm tired of fighting for pain hurting and a life that amounts up to nothing i really care about you all but for some reason that dont seem life enough i will never be able to say enough about how much i care for you all i cry when your hurting when your upset i laught when you laught i just hope some day that i will understand more about why i feel the way i do and maybe just maybe i will lean from it stacie,
Guest guest
What he said..... in triplicate. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you here. I am SO thankful to have my husband (our zapped guy) here for one more. And thankful also for all of you, who've helped me deal with his 'stuff' over the last 10 months. May the God/dess who loves us all continue to bless us, each and every one, with the gift of life, and the hearts to appreciate it. Whatever it is, I am one also, and very grateful sometimes., I get away with a lot more than I did when I was younger and I enjoy it. Guest guest
Stacie: Nothing wrong with being a geezer. You get a senior citizen discount and when the pretty girls walk by you no longer wonder what it would be like--you already know. (Nagging, waiting, household chores and always being wrong . . . besides what you are thinking about.) Geezers can laugh at themselves (Might as well join in with everyone else.) and if they screw up, it's sort of expected. (The word 'screw," however may be a problem for some of those geezers not on medication or who have husbands whose weight has gone REALLY high. Geezers can wear anything they want out in public. Polyester is best. And color combinations do not matter. White shoes and matching belts are always on sale somewhere, and you can wear any kind of a hat anywhere at anytime. Even cockeyed. And geezers have special driving priviledges. They is no minimum speed limit. They can park half-way on the curb. they only have to signal lane changes once a trip, and not have to turn their blinkers off the rest of the way. And they never have to signal left, right or U turns, which they can make from any lane they happen to be in. and if they get lost, they just have to say that everything changed from when they were there last. (Probably back when people were driving Hupmobiles. Geezers can also complain. About everything. Prices are always a good start. Milk was ten cents a quart. Gasoline was twenty cents a gallon. Hamburger was thirty-ficve cents a pound. Hookers were . . . And geezers can go to all those senior citizen dances on sunday afternoons where an old guy with a bad toupee plays the accordion (with three young guys playing behind him and thinking that work-release programs for felons are more fun). And geezers can eat for free at those dances. All the food is soft (they take out the taste is why.) and healthy (lots of fiber so you also get the exercize going to the bathroom, too). they have great drinks, too. Fruit punch that the Hawaiians didn't want and tea made from herbs. Made from Herb's old underwear is what it tastes like. Still it's free, and if it's free, we geezers will take some. Geezers at those dances do not have to dance. This is especially good if you do not have a blue hair fetish when you think about women. if you think about women at all. when one of those blue-haired ladies asks you to dance, there is sure to be a reason why you can't dance with her. Usually it's because of her blue hair, but you are allowed to make up some lie--an old war wound is traditional, but you can make up anything you want. If however some biddie does get you on to the dance floor, because you are a geezer you can step on her feet at will. (You need only ask, "Oh, did I step on your foot?" to this the blue haired one will lie through her teeth and say 'Oh no." because she hasn't had a warm body pushing her body and lurching around a dance floor since Rudy Vallee fought a losing battle with microphones. And if one if these old broads starts to get amorous, being a geezer is wonderful. You can go to her house for a home cooked meal and be sure that there will be plenty of it--not like Denny's. Then afterwards when she wants to get romantic, you can feel totally comfortable falling asleep on her couch. up, look at your watch and say. "oh my. Look at the time. I've got to be going." And go home. Yes, Stacie, it's definitely all right to be a geezer. Best. Guest guest
Stacie: You must really think I'm old. No one eighteen calls a male a fellow anymore, unless, of course they'tre really old and you don't want to hurt their feelings. Amazing how we go from being one of the guys to an old fellow without even realizing it. :-) Bill Re: wisdom / BILL oh bill i will let you have this one but i still thank geezer is the wrong word for it how about old fellow or really nice old fellow who knows someday you be calling me old and if it's as fun as you say brang it on stacie,18 Please visit the Zapper homepage athttp://www.ZapLife.org

I was just invited to go to an island with my children, (Caribbean) a small one and a resort similar to Club Med and I am arguing that I am afraid to go because there are no hospitals on the island and I am afraid that my icd will go off. It has not gone off in more than one year. Lately I am afraid to go anywhere for fear that I will get sick. It is irrational, I believe, but I question how normal is this fear for folks like; us. Guest guest
Stacie: I will always tead between the lines and find something in words to make a joke. It's how I keep sane in a crazy world. Get used to it. Nothing hurtful is ever meant, and I really wish people would pick on me. Much more fun being teased than doing the teasing. And you can call me old anytime you want. I wasn't supposed to see 44, and next month I'll be 60. Call me anything yoiu want, as long as I can answer, I'm happy. Best. His hasn't gone off since last April, and that was only due to faulty wiring which his EP doc fixed. He'd give his teeth, and mine too, for a chance to go on a trip to a beautiful tropical island. (I'm sure it would be even more fun for him if i stayed home, heh heh.) Go. Enjoy. Send us a postcard. Really..... i mean it... go and have the time of your life!
