question on interactive delays

hi...i am a new mom to a 9 week old son with ds. i am feeling

extremely frustrated since he still does not focus on much and

doesn't look at me. no matter what toys i use that light and make

sounds, he doesn't look at them. i know he sees, because he will

look at his mobile, but that is about it. so he is not very

responsive or interactive....is this something others have

experienced? he sees an opthomologist thursday, but i'm curious if

this is another delay in ds kids. i am just learning about all

this....
