Guest guest
This is a good question. I've often wondered what the difference is between a shampoo bar and a reg bar of soap. I have short hair and have used my soap bar on my hair. It's just ok since I wash my hair everyday, but no longer shiny. Comments? Guest guest
Hi! I have a hand milled shampoo bar that really works wonders. It doesn't lather as much as regular shampoo, but it leaves my hair feeling and looking wonderful! Melt together 1 cup grated soap and 1/2 cup water. After the soap has melted add: 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup castor oil, 1 tsp. of dried crushed peppermint leaves, and 15 drops of mango FO. Hope you enjoy it as much as we all do here. in Golden, BC > > anybody have a recipe for some good shampoo bars that they are > willing to share? > > Much Thanks! > Madelyn > > >
Guest guest
Hi, everyone. I know I've been lurking lately, and I apologize for the cross posting, but I'm in need of a tried and true shampoo bar recipe (all veggie oils) for a customer. I need something that I can HP. It's prolly best to send it privately, since I'm on digest. Thanks for your help!!! rox ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
Hi, Lori! The process for making shampoo bars is no different from any other bar, you just need to use a good recipe for hair. Good shampoo bars usually contain jojoba oil and other " rich " oils. I'd send you one of my recipes, but I'm not at home and don't have access to my files. Do a search on the Internet for " shampoo bar " and I'm sure you'll find many great recipes to try. Let us know what you try and what you think of it!! pamela
Guest guest
Making a shampoo bar is no harder than making cp soap. My family loves it and I use it all the time. Here is my recipe. avocado oil: 4 oz castor oil: 9 oz Coconut oil or palm kernel flakes: 15 oz Olive Oil: 13 oz Palm oil: 10 oz NAOH: 4% discount = 7.3 oz I like to infuse my olive oil in chamomile and/or calendula, but you don't have to. You can also change any of the oils but keep the castor oil at 15% of the total oils. That's what makes a good shampoo bar. My family likes lemon scent so I scent with lemon eo, but you can use your favorite eo or fo. Hanne > Happy Easter to all. I bought a shampoo bar from Burt's Bees and love it. I have made my own cold process soap, but have heard that making a shampoo bar is more difficult. I love the Burt's Bees and am a little afraid to try my own. Anyone have a recipe they like? Also, I am interested in subscribing to a magazine that has toiletries. Thanks. Lori > > >
