what about a Mcdonalds party. They are very cheap and all kids love

Mcdonalds. You could also have a party at home and invite some type of

entertainment. A clown or a favorite character. You could just have a house

party and rent one of those air jumping things. Most places come out and set

up and then come back to pick up. You could also rent a magician or have a

petting zoo come out. Hope some of these ideas help. My kids had a bowling

party. This is a very good idea also and the cost is cheap. The kids get the

duck pins with the bumpers in the lanes and just take turns rolling the ball

down. They all have a blast. Good luck. I'm in the same boat as you for my

little girl who is turning 5. I have three kids and I had every last party i

mentioned so i'm trying not to repeat any. But with three kids, I'm afraid

this might be the first year to repeat one. Thank goodness my oldest who will

be 10 Aug. 27th is all grown up and partied out. He's into money and games

for all his many systems. Dad and i still take him out on his special day

just the three of us to a resturant of his choice and we still do the ice

cream and cake with close family members. You might want to try a gymnastic

party. My daughter just had one last year. It was great and all the kids

loved it. Whatever it is you choose, your little one will have a ball. they

are so easy to please.

Happy 5 teen Miss Shan! will be 12 ( very much a pre teen) at the end

of the month! She is also planning a dinner and a movie with a few friends.

Its gets a little easier when they get to this age, I think! Planning the

younger parties were tough.

Hey, Sherri do you have a backyard? I had almost all of amanda's parties

outside - the kids love it! And so do I. Get a pinanta and play a few games

including water balloon toss in this heat - that will be great to cool off.

have make your own sundaes.

We have also had some really great parties at Mcs too especially this

one that was set up like a 50's place they had a juke box and great music and

the girls who worked there played all kinds of games with the kids.

Whatever you decide, have fun!

Hi. When my son Jordan was around this age he was very into all things

firetrucks. So I threw him a party using that theme. This consisted of

purchased firetruck themed party supplies (plates, napkins, pull-string

piñata), firetruck races and a plain store bought cake that I decorated, and

a visit from the local firemen with firetruck.

For the firetruck races, I made individual fire trucks out of paper boxes

painted red with small plates painted black for tires. I then took small

rubber hoses and attached them to the boxes. String was then used for the

shoulder straps. Each child was given a firemen's hat and fire truck and we

had races.

For the cake, I bought a plain white frosted cake with no decorations. I

then took graham crackers and extra frosting and made a two story building

(brownstone) with windows and a semi-collapsed roof. I inserted candles

into the building through the open windows. I placed a few small fire

trucks around the building with their ladders extended. When the candles

were lit, it gave the appearance that the building was on fire.

Everyone was amazed that the firemen and fire truck came to the party.

Turns out it was very easy to get them there. Basically all we did was call

and say that we were planning a birthday party with a firemen/truck theme

and we would love for them to bring their truck over to the party and allow

our kids to take pictures with them and their truck.

Let me know if you need another idea... I've had bug hunt parties, blues

clues and beach (pool) parties. Just remember the only thing that matters

is that the kids have a good time. Good luck!

<< My son Tayler is Turning Four on the 13 th of august and I am in desperate

need of some ideas for a b-day party for him could everyone please help >>

I haven't done this for Liam yet, but I used to do it for my nieces and

nephews when they were little. I made a big (clean) flower pot full of dirt

- chocolate pudding, covered with ground up chocolate wafer cookies - and

stuck some gummy worms coming out of it. If they wanted snow on their dirt,

I put on some whipped cream.

A friend of mine found candy rocks in her travels. I put vanilla pudding in

a clean beach pail and covered it with ground up vanilla wafers, the candy

rocks & gummy fish to make sand. The kids had so much fun saying, ' oooooo!

Aunt Kathy are you going to make us eat dirt? ooooooo!'

Another cute idea is to bake cupcakes in ice cream cones.

You might want to try to find the book " The Pennywhistle Birthday Book " (or

something like that). One of the authors is Meredith Brokaw. It has TONS

of great ideas for themed parties for kids of all ages, from toddlers

through teens. There are also lots of other books out there on the same

topic - just go to your library!!

We had a bunch of successful parties when my kids were little (my youngest

is now 9, so my birthday parties are over!). Up until about age 8, they

were always at home. We had a puppy dog party, a kitty party, an " Old

Mac Party " , an " Under the Sea " party, a " Wild, Wild West " party, a

" Caps for Sale " party (modeled after the book, which was Jimmy's favorite

the year he was 5), a " Sleeping Beauty " party, a Japanese party, a birthday

tea party, and a fairy princess party, to name a few. The kids and I both

liked these parties, because we planned and got ready for them for weeks

before...... We created homemade invitations and decorations, adapted

favorite games to the theme (LOL - how many different names can YOU call

" duck, duck, goose " or " pin the tail on the donkey " ?!??), always had

somewhat of a costume for the kids (ballet skirts, bandanas, cowboy hats,

headbands with cat ears, tea party bonnets), and had theme related goodie

bags. Great fun - but lots of work!! I can't say that it's all that bad to

drop them off at a movie and then back home for a sleepover these days!

If you like any of my themes, e-mail me and I'll let you know more details.
