It does prevent people from sending pictures, but it also prevents people from inadvertently sending a virus too. I did receive the virus, but since i use Netscape for my e-mail client (it does not automatically open attachments), i was able to delete it. The nasty thing about these buggers is that they send themselves out, w/o the computer operator being aware of it being sent. It's not malicious on the person's part. It's the nature of the virus. For those of you who use Outlook Express or the like, there are ways to configure it so that it doesn't automatically open attachments and infect you.
