Using extracts ...

Hey there. I've seen recipes that say you can use vanilla extract,

peppermint extract, etc., but I've always been cautious of them. I would

think you would have to use a LOT in order for the scent to last, and plus,

like someone else said, these have alcohol in them and would be pretty

drying on your skin, I would think. Lip balm wouldn't be so bad, I wouldn't

think, but alcohol in bath salts wouldn't be good for you, probably. One of

my friends tried making peppermint bath salts with regular peppermint

extract that you can buy at the grocery store, and she said that she had to

use a *lot* of it in order to keep the scent strong. Maybe had to use an

entire bottle, I don't know! :-) I don't know how she liked the bath salts

in the bath, though -- she never told me. But yeah, I'd be cautious of using

those.
