Educated Parents Respond to ER - As you may know, on February 15th, 2001, NBC's television drama ER contained a highly controversial story line about a family who chose not to vaccinate their children, and one of the children contracts measles and dies from complications while the doctors on the show lash out at the mother and categorically deny any risks posed by the vaccine. Families across the country are lashing back in their letters to NBC. I am posting just a small sampling. As these letters demonstrate, parents concerned about vaccine safety are hardly the blubbering idiots portrayed by NBC's ER.

Prevnar, Pneumococcal (Strep) Vaccine Does NOT Prevent Ear Infections and Has Major Side Effects - Prevnar is a new vaccine against pneumococcus. The alleged benefits are greatly exaggerated and the risks are significant. The children who received Prevnar in one trial were 4 times more likely to have seizures and 4 times more likely to have stomach problems. Also, significantly more children developed asthma that had been given Prevnar.
