Guest guest
Hi Friends! For those of you who have yet to add The ZAPPER to your bookmarks.... here's some incentive. The following truly inspirational letter was posted to the ZAPPER BBS yesterday. Share it with as many people as you can in your world of ZapLiving! Letter From Elders Tomorrow, December 6, will be the two-year anniversary of my implant, affectionately named Buzz Lightheart. When I look back, I am not only thankful for this gift, but I also realize how far I have come in my own healing process. I no longer look at it negatively as a wound but positively as a part of myself. As I interview for positions in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, I realize that this is my calling: to reach out to others with ICDs and help them to come to terms with their own fears and realize that this is not the end of their lives, but just a beginning! I know I have a level of excitement every time I meet one of you and continue to learn more each day. As I pursue my Master's degree in exercise physiology, I hope to look deeper into the effects of exercise on arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies. And I hope that cardiologists in the field will continue to look at cases individually and work to modify driving restrictions for those at low risk for having an event while driving. I wish you all the best! My goal is to be the best I can be today and be even better tomorrow! This is the attitude I wish every with an ICD can achive. With the efforts of all the ers and Zapper readers and everyone who comes in contact with one of us.... we can spread it around the world faster than a virus! Stay well!
