You just described Evan to a tee as far as his pain threshold and his

sensitive feet.

I once was holding Evan's hand in the pediatrician's office when they called

for Evan to come to the back....well Evan decided to do the famous " stop,

drop and roll " while I still had his hand and he dislocated his elbow before

we knew what happened. When we got to the back and was in the patient exam

room....Evan put his elbow in my hand. I looked at it...and didn't see

anything wrong with it and so I let it go and he put it back in my hand

again. That's how I knew there was something wrong with it and then it

dawned on me what was probably wrong (I used to work in an Orthopedic

Surgeon's office so we saw these quite often.).....I had caused him to

dislocate his elbow (aka.... " nursemaid's elbow " ). I cried like a baby and he

NEVER shed a tear. The doctor came in and was more concerned about me than

she was about Evan....LOL!!! She, of course, popped it right back in place

with no problems and he was fine. I, on the other hand, went home and drank

3 wine coolers after that!!!!! LOL

of tolerance for pain. She seldom cries when in pain and seldom tells me

she

is in pain. When she does I know she is really, really hurt! She has had

ear infections, cuts, etc., and never complained. Recently she sprained her

ankle very badly and she did cry but not a lot. Her ankle swelled to more

than triple its normal size. It had a cast and then a boot splint etc. She

stayed off of it for a week and actually learned to hop because she couldn't

bare weight on it (what a way to learn heehee Her regular PE teacher at

school felt she deserved extra credit for that)! Yet except for when she

fell, she didn't cry.

Now an interesting side note...the bottoms of her feet are extremely

sensitive. She can't stand to walk on almost anything but grass if

barefoot.

And they are very sensitive to temperatures, too. She does prefer lukewarm

showers versus warm or hot.

I wonder how many out there have a similar experience.

Hi

My son has a high tolerance of pain. I was told that his nervous system was

sluggish like the rest of him......hmmmmm. Well, he had gotten hurt and not

cried. He will go to the doctors office and the Dr. will press his face to

see if it is sinuses and when that is negative leave the room. My son cries

about the mean doctor hurting his face after!!!! Oh well. He also has

sensitive feet. and will not even walk on our deck without shoes on. He will

do sand by carefully. NO PEASTONE!!!

My son also gets cold. His turns blue around the lips and he has purple

hands. I have to make sure he is well covered and he is not allowed outside

for sports at school for anything 60 degrees or colder. Some form of

Raynauds??

Now this is mentioned, Tasha does not go around unless she has at least socks

on. Interesting! The little cutie pie! As a matter of fact when I got

hoemfrom the store this afternoon she was in the yard with her Dad. Everyone

had their shoes and socks or saddles off, but she stillhad her socks on.

I've been noticing this with Hana and have discussed it with family.

Little things that would make my neice cry (2 weeks younger than Hana)

don't make Hana cry. She did cry during her immunizations though.

broke his finger pretty bad over Memorial Day weekend and did not

cry! He was mad but never really cried so it was hard to tell how bad it was

until the next day when we rushed him to the ER! He also cannot stand socks

and if he has to wear them they have to be on just right. It takes him

forever to put them on!

Kenzie (7DS) has a very HIGH threshold for pain....whenever they take blood

from her she smiles and says " OH THANK YOU " ..even when she had her tonsils

out she only cried immediately after they woke her up and stopped when she

saw me.
