Jan is just wonderful. Her spirits continue to buoy me up. Her

leukemia is technically 'in remission' which is cause for celebration

except that we don't know if remission is weeks or many years. I

haven't stopped being scared. Yes, she is doing a good job making blood

(no longer transfusion dependent), but we've been here before.

Anyway, we've started the wheels rolling to get her back on her own and

into her own life. Hopefully, she will have an apartment by August,

with or without a roommate. That is what she wants. I can certainly

understand that.

Of course, I'm not home but on the other coast. We're communicating by

email and Jan got into the Love You Tons. Here is today's exchange.

There was a beach clean-up in our little village. Jan decided she

wanted to take part (perhaps because of the promised bagels for

breakfast and barbecue for lunch). It rained on Saturday and here is

the Sunday report. I'd challenged whether she was there to work or pig

out.

She started the escallation of telling me she love me tons. I've

introduced her to magatons and gigatons. Now she seems to have the

concept. The generalization to gigamega tons is simply beautiful. It

ups me by a million. ... and she can count her change.

Dad,

What do you think, of course, I did, what else,

besides I didn't do what I really wasn't sopposed to

do, of course I helped out, what else, what kind of a

question is that, dammn! You're gigamega tons, what

else, I didn't pig out or anything, I did some raking

and picking/cleaning up, I expected an barbcue and

they lied to me.
