Kim. This is what I do for wholesale if you want to use it as a guideline.

I have a $100minimum order which sounds high but its not. When i have a

wholesale inquriy i send them to my wholesale web page. the prices are

40-50% of retail. Yes, they pay shipping.

If you want to check it out the like to my wholesale page is:

Help Please!!!!!!!!!

I was just asked to sell wholesale What kind of pit holes could I fall into

doing this?

What do I need to watch out for?

Does any one have a form (to sell whole sale) I could look at or know of a

place on the Internet to find one.

.And whole sale should be half of my resale price? And they pay for

shipping and insurance.

And how much should I make this person buy so I know they are going to

sell and just don't want a real good deal.

Also, be darn sure your wholesale price are well above your costs... If you

havnt done it already, sit down and figure the cost per item that you make.

Kim,

I am presently giving this a lot of consideration. I have never had high

prices to begin with and have done gift shops at a 30% commission rate. I

had a guy want me to give him 50% off my retail for his shop and when I sat

down to see EXACTLY what each product costs me to make including labels,

packaging, content etc. right down to the penny and didn't even include my

time, I realized I would almost be paying him to sell my stuff on some

items. So, I went to a couple of folks I knew who do this bigtime on other

lists and they all told me they only give up to 40% off on retail(what you

sell to customers) on soap and only 30% on toiletries which usually are not

marked up as much.

I realized I can't do 50% on something like my lipbalm because it costs me

around .75 to make it and I only get $1.75 at shows so if I gave him my

balms for %50 off retail I would get .87 giving me a .12 cent profit

....can't work on that.

He said his other manufacturer's give him 50 on retail but he is talking

about huge card companies and mass produced items. I do have to up my prices

this year but the other soapers said to stick with the 30/40 on price cuts

for our products. You should also have a min. restock order too or you will

be running your legs off for a few dollars if you restock yourself.

I have all ready priced most of my things.

So do you have them fill out forms or any thing ?

Or is that just for shops around in our area?

I have only done commission thus far but I believe it would be like any sale

with you giving them an invoice with the products and amts. listed that they

want and the total.Having them sign your copy would be a good idea too if

you work in person. I also keep invoices on restocked items as I found over

the years that my shop owners get crazy at holiday time and sometimes loose

the slips I bring in with their stuff so It is a good idea to keep your own

tally too. I have one shop owner up in Cazenovia who lets me pick up my

unsold items right after Christmas and do my own tally on what sold and she

cuts me a check. Have you done commission yet?I have been lucky to have my

shops only charge me 25%.

Deb,

You don't have a web site yet? I must be getting every one mixed up. We have

had so many new soapers join us.

You can build one at homestead real easy, you won't have to wait for your

husband to help. It is also free.

If you need any help let me know. I have had a lot of fun building mine

and I am just learning about computers.

And what a beautiful pic of your lotion!!!!!

I think so too about the picture! I am dying for it to get nice out and I

can arrange my rocks again and take new pictures for my site. I just love

having natural things to surround the product.
