Guest guest
A couple of weeks ago Tim ran a high fever for two days. We took him into the doc on the third day after having it go up and down. He developed a skin infection and ended up on cloxicillan. The doc figures his immune system was down somewhat. There was no ear infection. He complained about his legs aching but they seemed fine. We get another test for thyroid in July. Val IMPORTANT-HIGH FEVER BUT WHY? hey its me AGAIN! Here goes. Ben had a very high fever sunday of 104. No other symptoms at the time and fever went away with tylenol. kept him from from school yesterday and he seemed fine. No fever or anything all day. Then about 5:00 last night, he seemed hot again, took his temp. Back up to 102. What is up with this? Now he is complaining of pain in his upper left rib area. I almost took him to er last night but he was able go right back to sleep. He had fever all night tho i dont know how much. he is resting now but what the hell is going here? Anyone with any ideas? I am taking him in (hopefully) to the doc today or er if it gets bad. He has no other symptoms other than the fever that comes and goes and the pain. we just went back to the oncologist/blood expert last wed, they took blood and everything looked great. everything was in the normal range. now this! the doc did say to call him if ben seems be tired, lethargic etc because as we all know, kids with ds are more prone to leukemia. i looked up endocarditis on the web and it mentions a low grade fever but not much else. dont think its append. because of the area (houdini thought that too lol) and the pain comes and goes. doesnt really seem to get worse. oh well, just another day in the life, huh guys? Any ideas, comments? Kerrie mom to ben 17ds and alex 14nda ps i also am so thrilled to hear about darran. what an inspiration to all of us. I asked if i could borrow russell sometime, now i want darran too!

The pain in his ribs, could it be really his lungs? oooh also Sara's DR said if she's running fever for 3 days make an appt, if not its probably viral and will run its course. Kathy mom to Sara 10.............hey we're you talking about Darren, Carolyn's son? if so will you tell her to email me, haven't talked to her in ages and I know she left this list heehee tell her TN buddy needs some updates lolol (I don't have her current email addy)
Guest guest
Last week I took my 14 month and 20 month old in for what I thought was pink eye. The 14 month old had had a cold and slight fever all week. The 20 month old had been fine. When we got to the Ped, the 14 month old had double ear infections and the 20 month old had a temp of 103, but clear ears. He said she had a virus and it would get worse before it got better. It DID. She was miserable for the next 3 days......the fever would break if I kept her on the tylenol/motrin routine every 2 hours....and was worse in the am and in the pm. Yesterday she woke up fever free and has remained so. No other symptoms appeared. However, my 8 month old, on Easter, had a temp of 101 (caused by ear infections)... and had a seizure. Fever's make me very nervous now!
