Guest guest
, I was talking about when we go to the gathering in Canadagua, (I think I forgot to say that) SORRY. I thought it would be fun for all of us to bring a bag of stuff we bought, and we can exchange with whoever has what we would like. (I have to start re-reading my letters before I send them.) I get carried away when I come up with an idea, and I type too fast. Kathy
Guest guest
Would it be a surprise swap or are you saying we should describe what we bought? What happens if we receive things we hate in the swap? Sharing IDEA Seeing so many of us do a lot of shopping at the Dollar Stores, and we all live in different areas, Why not all of us that can shop there, buy about $10 worth of something that we can use for our soaps, like molds and odd little bottles, and then we will probably all have different things, and we can just trade with each other. I go to stores in Niag. Falls, and Buffalo, and I find different things in Buffalo that I can't find at home, plus once they have it for a little while, you never see it again. It would be a cheap trade, and I think , a lot of fun. What do you think????? Kathy
Guest guest
Hi gang...I was talking to Bob in the car today and he was surprised I didn't get involved in this-he is as involved in this business as I am but won't admit it So I guess I am asking for some info on it since I lost most of the posts with all of my mail trouble! I really want us to have our own gathering this spring/summer but thought I would see about the dates of this one etc. and see what our business schedule is like. Thanks-can't wait for warmer weather and getting out in the gardens etc. as I dash rather quickly from house to car and won't make the dash until bob warms the car!!! I have gotten old! Debbie *(PS...Teri, I tried to call you today before the kids got off the bus and you didn't answer at least I tried!! Want to chat about some area shows and other such stuff...I will try you again tomorrow...post a good time ok? ) Deb----
Guest guest
This gives me an idea. I make weekly trips to both our dollar tree's here. How bout this... When I come back from the Dollar Tree's I'll post if I found anything new or that might be of use to the members. If anyone is interested in the items I'll run back and get them what ever amount of the item they want (oh boy another excuse to go back to a dollar store!) We can either ship them or drop off/ pick up type of thing. Anyone else interested? Today I found some cool clear glass apothicary jars.....they look like they hold about 2 oz each and come in a 2 pack. Rubber seal and glass hinged top. They had round....ovel...octagon and a squarish (is that a word?? lol) They also had them in frosted, pastel colored glass. I bought up 3 sets, but they had probably 50 sets on the shelf. I'll be going back this weekend for more. My sister has taken the hand butter I made her to work and now everyone wants some. This could also work in reverse....say your looking for something...post it to the group and when us dollar store junkies go shopping we'll keep our eyes open for it. Guest guest
Terri Not a bad idea. On those frosted kars you bought.....do me a favor and wet your finger and then rub the jar. See if the " frost " comes off. I bought some pretty pastel colored Perfume type bottles with glass ball tops at the Dollar Tree and I just happened to pick one up with wet hands and the frost came right off. I'd hate to have you use one for a customer and have this happen to them. Re: Sharing IDEA This gives me an idea. I make weekly trips to both our dollar tree's here. How bout this... Guest guest
ooooohhhhhh. That makes more sense. I got to thinking afterwards about the high cost of shipping the stuff from the dollar stores and thought that the cost of shipping would cat up any savings we made by shopping there. Now it makes more sense if we're bringing them to the gathering. We could also do that for the gathering WE want to have. Just make sure that what you buy, you won't mind keeping if it so happens you end up with having to keep it yourself. That pertains to the people with lousy taste.(hehe) Just joking!! Guest guest
See , You have to read between the lines when you talk to me on this thing. I think we would come up with a lot of good stuff. And I have yet to find anything there that I wouldn't want to keep. It would be more likely that I didn't want to give it up. I have already bought about 4 things to bring. I had gotton them for myself, and then when I went back, I just couldn't resist, just because it was $1.00. I think this Dollar Store is a sickness too. I even found a metal mold that I had already bought in a kitchen store of a daisy, and I paid $5.99 for 3 of them, and they had the same one for 6 for $1.00. You could only use them with the M & P, but who could pass that up. I wish they had some other designs, but I keep checking. Glad you like this idea. Guest guest
Hey, to all you dollar store junkies, I went to the doctors in Buffalo today, and stopped at a dollar store on my way, and I found the cutest Mickey Mouse mold. They only had two, so I bought them both. I have another appointment in two weeks, so I will stop and see if they have anymore. , do you want any if they have some, and do you think anyone at the gathering might want one or two? Guest guest
No, it is bigger than a candy mold. You can't get much soap in those. This is almost 3/4 " thick, Kathy
