Dear Everyone,

I am writing to tell you about the

4th Annual Youth and Young Adult Defibrillator Conference

" Celebrating a Bright Future "

for ICD patients 30-something and under and their friends and families

October 23, 1999, The Marriott Resort, Ypsilanti, Michigan

A continental breakfast will be served starting at 7:45 and there will

be ICD patients and their parents speaking, plus a guest speaker. Morning

sessions include:

--Women's group: Women with ICDs who are over 18 years of age

--Young women's group: Young women with ICD's who are 18 years and under

--Men's group: For the guys with ICD's who are over 18 years of age

--Young men's group: For the guys who are 18 years and under

--Young siblings and friends group: For the siblings of ICD patients who are

18

years and under

--Parents, siblings and friends of adult ICD patients group

--Parents of young ICD patients group

--Spouses and significant others group

--Just for kids: for those who would like to do fun things while everyone

else is talking

Lunch will then be served and there will be a chance to meet some doctors

doing genetic research on arrhythmias. Have your questions ready. Afternoon

sessions include:

--Naturopathy and herbal therapy: what's it all about?

--Understanding the causes of life threatening arrhythmias

--Everyday ICD challenges for the new millennium (panel format)

--Shiatsu (accupressure) and massage: experience comfort wellness

--Experiencing Tai Chi

Afternoon sessions repeat. There is also an evening gathering from 7:00 to

10:00.

Attention everyone 10-20 years of age!!! Medtronic will be getting a suite

for the guys and a suite for the girls for the weekend. Plan to stay

Friday-Sunday if you can. Pass it on.
