Guest guest
Hey Terry!!!! Just today I was thinking of you. Hadnt heard from you lately and was wondering how you've been! Waves to the West! Shaye The Soap Shack www.mysoapshack.com free shopping cart info Hey there Hi there all on the East Coast! It's me again - waving from the West Coast<G> Does anyone besides me wonder what happened to 2000? I was just getting the hang of writing it and now they want to go and change it again. Sheesh..... Anyway, I finally have a shopping cart on my site that really works. After messing around since March with the other one, I tried Mals Free E-commerce at http://www.mals-e.com/index.htm . It works and it really is free! So for any of you wanting to get into the shopping cart scene, give them a look. (no, I don't get anything for saying that, it's just a great service and it's free, secure server and all that good stuff, great tutorials, templates and hey, if I can get it running any one can). I still need to work out a few bugs on my site but, for the most part....I'm open for business-ready or not<G>. I have some new molds in stock and mica on the way, so if anyone wants to take a snoop, I have 10 of each mold available now. Mica will be in stock next week too. I think there should be about 12 different colors, all cosmetic grade good stuff. I'm sooo excited about things finally coming together. Wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone and thanks to those who participated in my quick buys of 2000. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed working will all of you. Have a Safe and Happy New Year! Guest guest
Hi back atcha, No, they don't process for you but you can do pay pal with it. Mal has some merchant services he recommends but, he is basically just providing everything else. And when you get to the credit card collection it does go on a secure server which is a huge plus. When you get a merchant account anywhere, watch what the rate is, plus how long you have to keep the service and gateway fees..........sheesh. I'm learning all that the hard and expensive way. I'd say if you don't have to get a merchant account, don't. Stick with a business account at pay pal it's 1.9%. I'm getting soaked 2.95% plus 65 cents per call to verify cards, plus 20 bucks a month. Not a good thing if you're not making much money. And American express is over 3%. In all honesty, I'm paying thru the nose because I don't have a terminal, it uses the touch tone on my phone, so I can do credit cards anywhere on the road. (Plus a terminal is big bucks up front) Anyhow, it makes pay pal seem reallllllly good<G> I set pay pal up with Mal's a bit different than recommended. My site is set up to send me the order and they I will bill thru pay pal prior to shipment. After trying their web accept do-hickey for a quick buy, I decided to let my cart gather all of the order so the customer doesn't have to keep going back and forth, filling stuff in over and over. I think it's going to work out well. Well I hope I finally got around to answering your question<G> Sorry for giving you an entire chapter but hey, if it helps save somebody else the grief of a bad merchant account, it was worth it. If you have any more questions, just yell. (oh and you can set your site up any way you like, you're only adding hyperlinks to the secure server, or you can use forms) ttfn Re: free shopping cart info Hi Terry (with a y hehe ) Hey on this mals thingy.....now am I reading their site wrong or what.....From what I can see they don't process the credit cards for you is that right? Other than that, I'm just trying to get a few left over soap orders ready to go and then I'm going into hibernation till next year heehehehehehe next year.. I keep thinking of Hal and Dave, in that 2001 space odyssey movie.... I crack up laughing every time I have to write that number<G> Boy, talk about easily amused<G> So, how have you been and how much snow is there, where you're at? From the looks of the news, it's suppose to get ugly in the eastern half.
