All Life Lifters

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could help me

locate a very old plan that was in Overeaters

Anonymous. I'm dating myself here because they no

longer recommend any diet and haven't for years.

When I went back in 1976 & 1977 they had 3 basic diet

plans. One was on a Grey card, one on an orange card

and there was another one but I don't remember what it

was.

After being on this for a while I got to where I could

eat some things that now will give me indigestion and

did back then until I stayed on the plan. The one I

was on was the orange card. I think they were calorie

ranges like the Grey was 1,000 and the orange was

1,200 etc. but I'm not for sure. They had listed on

the front the amount at each meal to have. Like pick

one selection from this list. It restricted a lot of

foods but I found this one worked for me until I got

married and tried to change to the diabetic food plan

for my hubby. After that I could never get back to it

and eventually put it in a rummage sale with a lot of

other diet(s) plans.

In hind sight I think it had more to do with choosing

from the lists and not allowing certain foods that I

don't tolerate well. I can only remember one meal

that I fixed with it and not even all of it. I had

ham, green beans and that is all I remember. I do

remember the portion control was also a key and I got

to eating a lot more vegetables at the time. I also

had more salads and would tear up a head of lettuce

and fix a weeks worth of toppings to go with it but

stored them seperately.

Can anyone help me??? I sure would appreciate it if

you could.

;-) Virginia

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsover things are honest,

whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be

any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

Hi, Virginia - I'll ask my mom. She and I attended OA during those years (or, I

guess, shortly after) and I remember those cards. I'll see if by chance she

still has them. I know I don't.

Love,

Melinda :o)

Hi my sweet Virginia,

If I wasn't so sick with the flu I would go on a searching frenzy.

But I did write an email to OA themselves explaining what I'm looking

for... pray we get a response.

Also on Ebay I found an OA book from the year 1980; I wrote the

seller asking if they could check the book and I explained what we're

looking for.

hope you are dealing well my dear friend.

Love, Wanda.

Hi Connie,

Thanks for the information. I tried the link but it

wouldn't let me in. I also tried to cut and paste it

to no avail. I printed off your reply so I can try at

a later time. It could be just down for repairs.

Thanks!

Oh, Wanda,

I'm sorry to hear that you are ill. I'll be lifting

you up in prayer, my friend.

Thank you for writing to O.A. I contacted them myself

some time ago and was told that they didn't even know

about the plans and were adamant that they don't do

that. Well, I know they did although it was long ago.

Anyway, I hope you have a more positive response than

I was able to get.

I know it seems silly but I feel that if I could get

that plan again I could get back into control over my

eating and address the other problems through Life

Lift.

Thank you for checking on E-Bay. I hope it yields

something good.

I look forward to hearing from you about the results.

However, I would prefer that you would rest and get

feeling better before taking on any more things to do.

Your precious. Thanks, Virginia

Hi Virginia,

I sure hope someone can remember this so we can get it to you! So

far on the OA email I received an 'out of office'. Ebay person has

not responded to me yet either. But we'll find you your info; it

has to be out there.

I'm finding it quite difficult to sleep tonight but better go try

again; as I have to be up at the crack of dawn.

Love to you!

Wanda
