Guest guest
Good to hear from you Aimee. Take care and good wishes for Karl [ & Skyler] Update and hello I have been reading along for the last few weeks and keeping up with everyone's kiddos. Karl is doing the usual systemic JRA stuff. He is fine for a week or two and then suddenly wakes up with a rash, fever and stiff joints. We are still on 5 mg. of prednisone and will remain there for a while. Everytime we get to this point he flares again. Still uping the methotrexate every month.Thinking about all of you.Aimee (Karl's mom)For links to websites with JRA info visit: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Village/8414/Links.html
Guest guest
Hi Aimee, I hope things get better for Karl soon. 10 mgs has been 's all-time lowest, while still successful, dose of daily prednisone. It's been a very long time since he's been at this lower dose. Like I mentioned in the other post, he's just starting to have some old symptoms again. I can relate to what you're going through. I hope my son's is just a matter of getting accustomed to the lower dose and that the symptoms don't last ... or get worse. Breakthrough pain, as they call it? It's disappointing to see them do so well for a time and then have to go through this again. Don't lose hope, though. Guest guest
Yikes, ! Try very hard to stay out of the pit. I am so sorry to hear about your latest challenges. Those oral blisters and sores are SO painful. I'm happy that you went in to see your doctor though. Hope the culture comes back OK and that the rest of you can feel better soon. Guest guest
, Thanks. I haven't been in a pit since before I was sober. Hopefuly with the AB's and the eyedrops, and the cough med, I will be feeling better in no time. As for the blisters, they havn't popped yet, I can feel them everywhere with my toungue but they havn't broken yet. When they break I am sure I will not be having fun. I have had a few canker sores in my time but not ever in my whole mouth. The past couple of days have been really mild pain wise, I have enjoyed the break and hope it continues. I think I can handle the pain if it stays like this. It's when it strong and throbbing that drives me batty. How is everything on the home front. Your daughter still restricted? How's ? > Yikes, ! Guest guest
, Catching rabbits!! That sound like fun! How many times did you fall down? I would fall down trying to catch up with all their zig zagging LOL. I'm not very coordinated. I am getting a mental picture of myself trying to catch rabbits and its making me laugh. On a serious note, I am sorry you are sore. You couldn't get me out there doing yard work. I'd pass out in the heat. The doc doesn't know about the blisters yet, as they just showed up this morning. (And I forgot to call her today) I am having major brain farts lately. As much as you love , I'll bet you are still enjoying the break. Take it easy > I hope the meds work very soon, . Guest guest
Judy- Sorry to here that you are still going through it. I remember when my normal temp used to be 97.4. It hasn't been that since the RA and FMS. But because my norm was cooler, 99.9 felt really uncomfotable. So I know your frustration. The added heat doesn't help much I'm sure. Now my normal Temp is normal (98.6) and I often run a low grade fever. For a year and a half I had a low grade fever every day (99.5- 100.7). Every day! I got used to it after the doctor's kept telling me nothing was wrong. Then it went away while I was pregnant. Now I only get them occationally. I sure hope you get better soon. I don't have a candle at work, but I cut some yellow paper to look like a candle flame and taped it to my computer to remind me. It is there for you and the many others in our group. Peace, > , the CTscan came back with fluid still there but it has shrunk for sure > from 8 cm to 6 cm....in my opinion it shouldnt be there at all...but it is my > body's way of filling empty space..It is the dr's hope that it will continue > to shrink and dissapate or congeal and body will reabsorb eventually.
