Sign ups are right now. love, Jenni Cholesterol Good Afternoon Everyone, I am hoping to start reporting in daily. I just had some blood work done and need to address a Cholesterol problem. Guest guest
Oh, I don't know - - have you done the university thing yet? I LOVE the program. I'm eating foods I really, really like and I don't go hungry. How about you? Maybe since we're both doing LL, I should sign up for the university and we could keep each other encouraged. Guest guest
You should sign up...it kept me accountable for the first time in my life...I really needed it. They do alot of fun things and it really helps you to focus on the program. I haven't been able to do the toning exercises due to a torn rotator cuff but I do the walking 5 days a week which I very much enjoy. What's interesting is that I do my LL and use it as toning and I get the same results LOL Much easier and definitely more beneficial. love, Jenni Cholesterol Good Afternoon Everyone, I am hoping to start reporting in daily. Guest guest
Connie, I think I figured it out. Melinda I think it was mentioned she was doing the 6 week makeover program and I said I was doing it also. It is supposed to help with a myriad of things.....high blood pressure, cholesterol. I was told I have Syndrome X and so I knew I needed a different way of eating. This program does just that. I think it's a bit pricey...but it does work. love, Jenni > > Good grief I have forgotten too! I wish when I replied it would show what I > am replying to also. Guest guest
It was me - I'm doing the 6WBM. I haven't been online much during the last week and I've missed some messages, probably creating much of this confusion - - oops!!! Jenni, what kind of symptoms did you have that led to your diagnosis of Syndrome X? Isn't that the condition that is just prior to diabetes? I know I've read about it - - I'm not sure what it is . . . It seems to be helping me keep my blood sugar more level. Melinda ) Re: Cholesterol - Melinda Connie, I think I figured it out. Guest guest
Hi Melinda, What is GWBM? I have heard of Syndrome X, but I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with diabetes. I thought hat Syndrome X has something to do with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but I might be wrong. Anyway, since Jenni was diagnosed with Syndrome X, she will be able to tell you what it is. Please excuse me for " cutting in " on this conversation, but I really do love to participate in as many of these great discussions as I possibly can. This really wonderful social interchange is what groups should be all about, I think!!! Don't you agree? That's what makes every group so wonderful!!! Everyone on any particular list you might be on has the opportunity to learn from and communicate with everyone else. Love always, Pat The Family wrote: > It was me - I'm doing the 6WBM. Guest guest
Hi, Pat - it's Six Week Body Makeover. Again, I'm using just the eating portion of it, and doing LL instead of Thurmond's exercises. LL is the one exercise program I've found that I enjoy, don't dread doing, and feel better afterwards. Here's something wonderful that happened this week. I'm taking Yoshukai Karate with the kids. The instructor had us lift our legs about 6 inches off the ground while we were lying on our backs. Then, she had us do very slow scissor kicks, keeping our backs pressed to the floor, and our legs up only the 6 inches. I was the only mother able to do the exercise. I credit it all to doing my LL faithfully since January. My core muscles are much, much stronger, and I could do the movements with ease. Guest guest
Melinda, It has to do with being in menopause, being overweight to obese, prediabetic and there was something else....I forget what it is. It's scary, because I have all the telltale symptoms. When I was diagnosed I knew I was borderline diabetic....I still am. I have many of the symptoms but am able to keep my blood sugar level...mainly from doing the 6wbmo. love, jenni Re: Cholesterol - Melinda Connie, I think I figured it out. Guest guest
Hi Connie, Thank you for what you said. I take that as a very warm welcome from a very dear friend, and I thank you for it!! I remember now that I read what you said that when I belonged to a group (It was either a Reiki group or an EFT group, I can't remember which) I posted to the group the fact that I felt that our email forum was like our " group living room " where each of us could just saunter in whenever we wanted to, sit down on a very comfortable and luxurious sofa, kick our shoes off, relax and just have wonderful fellowship, sharing and support with and from each other. Funny how over the years since I posted that message that I fogot about it completely UNTIL I just read your words. And, you know, I really and truly still feel like that!!! So, thank you so much for having brought that memory of that message I posted on that group back to me!!!! I feel the same way about our wonderful " LL LIVING ROOM " !!!! Guest guest
Hi , I'm glad that you like my concept of our email group being a wonderful " LL LIVING ROOM!!! " That is a very warm concept, isn't it? Just see in your minds eye that our LL Living Room sofa is facing a warm, glowing fire in a wonderfully large and inviting fire place and that the flames are burning brighly beyond the iron barrier (I don't know what you call that thing!!), warming all of us and making us feel like a very close and very loving LL family!!! Guest guest
Speaking of menopause, I must say that I am so glad that I didn't listen to my mother and that I didn't believe what she told me during the four decades that I got my period. She always told me that after I hit menopause I would never be able to lose weight because of hormonal changes that the " change of life " would cause in my body!! Well, I am glad to tell all of you that my MOTHER WAS DEFINITELY WRONG about that!!! I am living proof that she was wrong!!!!! MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP RASHELLE ALWYAS!!! That is my prayer. What Rahselle has done for me over the past month is so eonderful and so very astounding, that I cannot begin to tell you. I will NEVER stop doing my LL breathing now that I have found it, and that is for sure!!!! Dear Jenni, Look, I have a paternal family history of diabetes and I am partially blind form birth defects in my eyes. One of the symptoms of diabetes is blindness, as you well know!! Fortunately, I am not diabetic, and from the way things look, I will prbably never become diabetic. I hope that that is the case, because the thing that horrifies me the most about diabetes is that it causes blindness, and that is because I am partially blind already from birth defects!!!!! So, Jenni, what I am really trying to say to you here is to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get frequent eye exams and to try with all of your might to avoid diabetes!!!!! I am so very glad that you have the wonderful benefit of LL breathing, Jenni. It will help you so much in your fight against the possibility of your becoming diabetic in the future!!! Please make sure that you do everything you can do to save and protect your vision!!! PLEASE!!!! And, most important of all, please make sure that you continue to do your LL breathing for the rest of your life!!!! Guest guest
Speaking of menopause...I'm glad you are able to keep the weight off...perhaps it was never an issue for you Some of us, even with LL struggle with menopausal weight. I am one of them and yes, it is menopause that has caused some of my weight gain and yes, even with LL it is a struggle to remove it. I eat healthy, I do my breathing and exercises. I walk. I'm active, but 20 lbs that I gained is strictly from menopause and it is NOT easy to get rid of. So I think your mother was alot more right then you give her credit for. There is a reason why so many women become heavier in the upper body...or thicker as they grow older and hormones do play a big role in this. Jenni Re: Cholesterol - Melinda > > > Connie, > > I think I figured it out. Melinda I think it was mentioned she was > doing the 6 week makeover program and I said I was doing it also. Guest guest
Hi Jenni, I thiink that main reason that I was able to lose weight so easily and that I am able to keep it off so easy now, five years after my menopause started, is that I never had children. I understand that weight gain after menopause is caused, in very large (no pun intended) part to having had one or more pregnancies during one's menstrual years. Anyway, that is what I have always heard. It's not that I don't give my mom credit for what she told me, it's just that our situations were so very different. She had two children, me and my brother, while I had no pregnancies and no children.. I expect that that might have something to do with the difference in my and my mother's experiences. where our body weights were (and are) concerned. Our post menopausal bodies were so very different and our hormonal issues were so very different because she had two pregnancies and two children, were I did not have any. Might that be what the difference was? Love always, Pat Titus2.3 wrote: > Speaking of menopause...I'm glad you are able to keep the weight > off...perhaps it was never an issue for you Some of us, even with > LL struggle with menopausal weight.
