Liz's Wed. Workout

Liz I always admire you putting your workouts on here. I have just started

" back " alternating the LL tapes. I have been doing them for about a week and a

half and discovered something I never noticed before...

when Rashelle is telling how to do the LL breath...after the " pah " she says to

hold your breath, tighten then lift.

I think in the past I tightened, lifted then held my breath.

doing this the correct way is REALLY making a difference..I have lost 12 pounds

in 9 days and 8 inches over all.

I'm also just eating 3 moderate meals per day..so that's helping too.

But I surely am glad I have these tapes!

Holy Crap! 12 pounds in 9 days!?!? That's AWESOME

Kelley! I've been LLing for about 4 months now and

haven't lost that much. That's great!

CONGRATULATIONS! Maybe some will rub off on me.

????HELP?????

Somebody straighten me out -- I take a deep, sort of fast breath (through my

nose) hold it for a good 4 counts, then pah, at which point I have " no breath "

-- then I lift and do whatever exercise I intend to do -- there's no holding of

breath after the pah ('cause I don't have any breath, my lungs are as empty as

the pah allows), before or after the lift... And then, when I can no longer " not

breathe " , I stop the exercise and start the procedure all over...... sometimes I

hold the no breath phase too long and have to a regular deep breath in

between....

So am I doing it wrong??? (and yes, I know that I could pull out the tape and

re-watch, but this is easier! and I won't forget to do it by the time I get home

from work!) -- that would be something, if all this time I've been doing it

wrong -- and still getting results (I have the feeling that the important part

(for health) is the deep breath/pah segment, the exercises afterwards are sort

of the " icing on the cake " .....)

I sure as heck wouldn't mind correcting it if wrong, and getting even better

results than I am!!!!!

Hey Bonnie...

I'm with you...HELP!! In reading your description, I think I do the

LL just like you do. By the time the " pah " is done, my lungs are

totally empty and I just lift and do whatever exercise (it already

feels like I'm holding my breath). I think I'm gonna have to get out

the DVDs again and watch super closely...

Maybe Rashelle can shed some light on this? I thought I was doing it

right, but now I wonder!! And I think you're right about the deep

breathing being the main issue for health...but, like you said, if we

need correcting to get better results...so be it! ; )

thank you liz and everyone for the encouragment...it's an easy exercise..and

yet...it's sometimes hard to make myself do what is best for me..

esp going thru a divorce..BUT..i am so happy you all are here

Dear ,

I didn't know you were going through that! I have been there...many

years ago. Please DO take very good care of yourself. It rates very

high on the stress scale so DO allow others to support you and give you

encouragement.

I frequently work with patients who lost their ability to speak

coherantly. Nearly every time when I remind them to breathe (I jokingly

tell them they'll turn funny colors if they don't breathe and it

usually gets a laugh) they TALK better both in clarity of speech and

puttin g their words together.

So ...a little reminder...breathe...or you'll turn funny colors! (Blue

faces are only attractive on Smurfs).

I am doing pretty well actually, the divorce isn't an ugly one..but still

painful.

As for LL...it's so great! as of today..it's 2 weeks I've been doing LL

faithfully..most days 2 times...and i've lost 13 pounds and 12 3/4 inches.

I would like to try the Herbal wrap and or the face stuff..lol can't think of

the name (perhaps I should breathe)

I'm turning 45 next month..and took look and feel better..even during a

divorce..would be like a miracle.

Wed. I did 40 LL breaths with a 2 ml. walk. I also did 20 more LL breaths with a

Pilates tape.
