Guest guest
Hi Peggi: Steve found this book quite helpful. I enjoyed the scientific approach in it and as it is also available as an audio tape we would play it during our four hour drives to see one of the early psychiatrists we took Steve to. I think the discussion about the four steps is good cognitive preparation for E & RP and I understand this approach has been quite helpful with people with mild to moderate OCD. Often our kids who have severe OCD must have a therapist to help them do the hard work of E & RP. We found the more OCD education we got the better we could handle things. Steve was 10 when I read this book with him, and he seemed to get quite a bit out of it. I like its positive upbeat approach; for Steve CBT was very heavy slogging though. Good luck, aloha, Kathy (H) kathyh@... At 08:39 PM 04/10/2000 EDT, you wrote: >Hi ... I meant to ask earlier. Guest guest
Dear LLers, Happy birthday to all you birthday gals. I am sorry I have not been as attentive yet to get to know all of you. I think that will take a bit of time. I HAVE been lurking! I have been working very hard - a lot of extra hours as there is a shortage in my field in this region and I feel a sense of obligation to my patients. I am being " kept alive " by listening to the VT tapes in my car, ha ha! It keeps my stress down and I am always seeking self improvement...I am GETTING there! Anyway...I DID find my LL tape: the original and have been doing the arms especially. I am noticing better strength and less soreness but still a really big wad of flab on the underside of my upper arms. Here is my silly question: would it be better to focus ALL of my 40 or so LL's on my arms only or would it still be better to divide them up? I ask this because if I could see a difference in my arms I think it would spur me on. I still am thinking about either having a body wrap or figuring out how to do it on my own. (I am NOT very coordinated LOL!) Time would be the big problem which is why I am leaning toward doing it at home...although...having someone take care of ME is a thought!:>) Your thoughts? Love to all, Libby an oldie but a goodie!
Guest guest
Hi Libby, Most of the poses will give you some arm work, but I would try to focus at least 15 minutes a day to some poses that include the arms. In one of the past newsletters I gave instructions for one I called Angel Wings. You are basically holding your arms to your sides and gently flapping your arms up and down as if you were trying to fly. Keep the movements slow, precise and gentle. Imagine that you are trying to lift off from a mountain to fly through the sky. Lift your chin and bend very slightly forward. It will also give you a good workout through the back around the bra line area. I totally understand not having time to participate on the list right now, but it is always so nice when you pop in. I really appreciate all your positive feedback about the Victory Theory tapes. I get more and more great feedback from all over and it inspires me. The nice thing about the Herbal Body Wrap products is you do not need to wrap for results. I rarely ever wrap. I am working today packing boxes and I just put the Night Magic on under some warm pants and top and then I have the Waist Trimmer belt around my waist to support my back when I am lifting and it also helps a great deal to improve the Body Wrap products results. Some people even use one on each thigh. The main thing that helps the Body Wrap products to work is to do some LifeLift while you are wearing the products. It seems to also improve the results of the BW products and the BW products seem to improve the results from LifeLift. It is a perfect combination for helping to reduce inches and most of all to firm and tighten your skin while you are loosing. Many people, including our sweet Wanda have said that these products help keep them more motivated due to the improved skin tone, inch loss and reduction of toxins in the fat cells. One thing to remember is to make sure you drink lots of water while using any Body Wrap products. Be Healthy and take good care, Rashelle Harness the Powerful Benefits of Oxygen with LifeLift. Guest guest
Dear Rashelle, Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I am working those arms!! I am going to try the Night Magic, too. I have a gift certificate for a spa nearby and I MAY try an herbal body wrap there, although I wonder if that would trigger my hot flashes. (My inner child playing with matches, ha!) I have a wonderful elderly patient who has been sooo distressed lately. She has a difficult time swallowing and was getting weaker and weaker. I have been working on her swallow and was thinking it really wan't so bad but that she was stressed. I loaned her the Going Beyond Stress tape for a few days. She had a modified barium swallow the following Monday and she PASSED! She has gained some weight since then (I have her on exercises and a modified diet to increase her intake) and looks very much on the mend. She is 87 and her dream is to be able to play even just MINI golf again...she was a crackerjack golfer in her day. I told her to visualize hitting the ball again and feeling how good it is to sink a putt. She said that has helped immensely...see how this just keeps paying forward?? Thanks, Rashelle!
