Guest guest
I don't remember if meat tenderizer has been mentioned, but it's reported to be very effective for all sorts of poisonous bites. I guess this is another form of enzyme therapy suggested by (?). And here's a suggestion from someone who knows herbs (I got it on some forum): " First I would make a poultice of plantain leaves by mashing them or chewing them, then securing over the bite with gauze. Keep the poultice moist by adding more plantain while not removing the old. This will remove many types of poisons, including from spider bites. If it was a poisonous spider, you can also apply calendula/echinacea ointment directly on the wound. By mouth I would take echinacea and garlic to boost the immune system. Is there any sign of nervous system stress or damage? If so I would take a nervine formula which may contain the herbs horsetail, blue cohosh, black cohosh, lobelia etc. If it wasn't a poisonous spider, probably the plantain poultice would do for a day or so (gauge by when infection seems to have subsided, no redness or streaks), then add a comfrey, calendula or some other type of tissue healing ointment until healed.
