Guest guest
Hi Brennen, Yep, I'm the pregnant one! This is our fourth. I have a 12, 8 and 1 1/2 year old. As you can see we had a large gap. We went through over 5 years of secondary infertility. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to experience in my life. I wish you luck on getting pregnant. Good for you to get yourself nice and healthy before you do. Rashelle has told me a way to modify LL during pregnancy so I have been doing that as long as it feels okay. As far as how I eat I eat a plant based diet. Pretty much everything without a label. I use very little processed foods. I eat whole grains, potatoes, fruits, veggies, and very little nuts and seeds. I have been eating this way for over 8 years now and love it. It has changed my life.
Guest guest
Connie, I couldn't believe it the first time I heard it too. On the other hand, I just can't believe that corn or potatoes created by the hand of God could be bad for you.Grin
Guest guest
What a wonderful thing for your friend. What is the KISS rule? The diet sounds a lot like Gwen Shamblins Weigh down diet which makes a LOT of sense to me. More so than eating every 3 hours whether you are hungry or not! Connie :-) Re: Re: checking in, food combining & thyrosine Melons do the same to me . And also cherries but oh do I love them!!!! I can eat a whole bag of raw cherries. You're right about eating the things the the good Lord put on this earth. I have a very good friend that has always been a size 16 at least and about 3 months ago she started what she calls the KISS rule, and place more emphasis on God than food and ate like He intended us to. She decided to eat only when she was hungry, instead of by the clock and she really listened to her body and when she was full she just quit. She said everytime she went out, along with her order she got a to-go box and immediately put half of her meal in it. She was amazed at how she would get full on just the half. If she was hungry when she got home, (truly hungry, stomach growling hungry) She would eat the rest. She is now a size 6 and looks fabulous. Needless to say I am extremely proud of her. Guest guest
, You're the pregnant one! I knew somebody in here was, but I haven't learned who is who yet... still trying to keep up with everyone... my DH and I are trying to get pregnant. Been off the pill since first of April... had two really weird periods May and June (May was one day average, next day HEAVY HEAVY, next couple of days hardly nothing... then June 9th, I was two days late, had my period basically one day normal, then nothing!)... I'm hoping it will " take " this month, because I don't want to be pregnant in the hot, hot, humid SC summer months! Just about 20 minutes ago, I had a wave of nausea... but I don't guess I am, even if I had my period only one day... Do you still do your LL through pregnanacy? What is gluten, and what can you eat if not gluten... fruits and veggies and complex carbs? KISS? Brennen --- faytk@... wrote: > Hi Melinda, > > I am feeling better-thank you Lord. Guest guest
Wow , that was certainly an eye-opener, I never knew that about pigs~that is why I LOVE this group, so much wonderful info we share! Connie :-) Re: Re: checking in, food combining & thyrosine Bonnie, I have talked to many farmers around her that raise pigs and yes they fatten them on corn but it isn't the corn that is necessarily making them fat. What they are doing is starving them for days and days (sound like dieting anyone??), then they finally let them eat and they binge and binge and binge. Just like when we diet and eat very little calories and then our hunger gets a hold of us we eat and eat and eat. That is what packs the pounds on not eating the corn. The farmers I have talked too said this was a big misconception that many people have pushed across the board that are trying to push the low carb way of eating. > and think about how they fatten up cattle and pigs, on corn.... >
Guest guest
Same here Melinda... I think I've had a thyroid problem too and didn't know it. My maternal grandmother had to have a parathyroid removed... and my mother is on thyroid medication. Not sure if the herbal Dr. I got to is getting it fixed... what have you been doing to get yours stabilized? I too feel like I've got more drive, at least in the last week or so, but maybe that's because my clothes aren't any looser! But I still also have the want to just go home and lay on the couch all night... but I make myself do the Callenetics twice per week, Curves 2-3 per week (at lunch) and LL in the car to/from work... I just wish I could get the want to go out on long walks several times per week... I know that would probably help me too. Brennen --- The Family <neilmeltx@...> wrote: > Wow, 3 months, ? Guest guest
Hi , I would love to have your cornbread recipe. I love the stuff but never make it anymore because of the sugar and calories. Lizkins9@... Thanks! Liz
Guest guest
, I don't think it is them, I think it is the junk we slap on them...butter, cream cheese. :-) Re: Re: checking in, food combining & thyrosine Connie, I couldn't believe it the first time I heard it too. Guest guest
, What's the modified way to LL? (just in case:)) For your whole grains, do you buy whole wheat bread? or just other forms like brown rice, etc. It's not an easy way to eat, if you want quickie meals.... then again, I guess a veggie sandwich would work, huh? Why not much nuts, seeds? Because of the fat? The Lord made those too, didn't He? (grin) I love raw almonds, and believe it or not, my DH does too! Never would have believed! Guest guest
Thank you for reminding me of this way of eating. I learned this many years ago while attending a group. I am ready to do this again along with LL of course! I have been searching for a good way to eat and this sounds like the best way. Thanks again...
