I've read on Dr. Ravnskov's site that statin drugs have anti-inflammatory actions. Maybe that's why they can be useful to Alzheimer's and MS? There's an increasing amount of evidence piling up that the statin class is effective against heart disease more for its anti-inflammatory effects than its anti-cholesterol effects. Even my (extremely anti-fat) cardiologist says so.
