Guest guest
Oops! There goes the theory! LOL Melinda ) Re: Liz-Melinda. Actually, I remember reading somewhere where the theory on this was that girls are estrogen dominant and that is why they cause more sickness versus boys who are testosterone dominant and it doesn't affect our bodies in the same way. Makes sense but I don't know if it is true or not!! Hugs,

I will continue to pray for Rex as well as you and your strength in dealing with all of this. I can't imagine what it is like for you on a daily basis. Bless your heart! Let us know what the new doctor says, okay? Love,
Guest guest
Melinda, I truly believe the connection between food and illness. I'm so happy that you've found someone who sees this as a possibility!!! I won't be a bit surprised to hear that this helps more than you can imagine. I'm continuing the prayers and will be waiting to hear how this all goes... Love you, Kiki
Guest guest
This is some good news for us - - the new doctor is going to do a blood test to assess for food allergies. She really believes that if we can eliminate food allergies, his body will be better able to handle even his environmental allergies, and we can reduce if not eliminate the headaches. Then we could start weaning him off some of the medications (hopefully, all of them). This is the first time it feels like somebody is trying to help us get to the root of the problem, rather than just band-aiding it. This sweet lady is not a specialist. She's a DO who practices holistically. I'm so hopeful we're on our way to some help. Thanks, , and everyone else for your prayers and support. I truly believe it's this group's prayers for us the last few days that have made the difference. I love you all, Melinda ) Re: Liz-Melinda. Guest guest
Melinda, I know that this is worth trying. When my daughter was 6 (she is now 12) she had allergy-induced asthma and coughed so much that her teacher called me to let me know that it was disrupting her class. At the time, she was on Albuterol syrup, prescription Claritin, Flonase and Flovent inhaler. I took her to a Chiropractor who was also a certified clinical nutritionist. We tested for food allergies and removed the allergy foods (18 including wheat, cow milk, soy, eggs, peanut, bananas) for nine months. We prepared every single thing she ate during that time. We treated with probiotics for leaky gut syndrome and systemic yeast from too many antibiotics. We also treated for parasites. Within 6 months she was on no medication at all. We were able to add the foods back over time with the exception of eggs and peanuts. She caught that terrible crud that went around in January and has been having some asthma issues the last couple of months. The pediatrition put her on Advair (been on it about a month) and seemed offended when I told him I would not do this long term and intended to find an alternative practitioner (the previous dr has moved) to deal with the cause. He knows I did it before but he never did acknowledge that it worked. He is a great doctor but conventional medicine all the way! I suspect he will be glad when Amber is too old for a pediatrition! HA. Anyway, sorry this is so long, but it is something I feel really strongly about and hope our experience will give you some hope. I do know how you feel watching your little one suffer and I will keep you all in my prayers. If there is any way at all that I can help I hope you will let me know. Take care, Gaylynn The Family <neilmeltx@...> wrote: This is some good news for us - - the new doctor is going to do a blood test to assess for food allergies. Guest guest
Gaylynn, Thank you so much for taking the time to share all this with me. It really encourages me that maybe we're on the right track to finding a solution. I sure hope so. Melinda ) Re: Liz-Melinda. Oh Melinda, I just wish there was something I could do to help.
