You are a very special woman, always there cheering everyone on. I love this affirmation, I have it taped to my computer " Create the kind of self you will be happy to live with the rest of your life " And " Try to see the positive or humorous side of everything that happens today. Do you have any special reflexology points I could try with my little boy? It's my 10 yos, and he's having a really bad migraine today. I'd love to see if I can get him some relief. I appreciate you being here to always encourage us, too - - you've set a high standard for us through your example of love and kindness. I have learned so much from you! Guest guest
Liz, Thank you so much for asking about Rex. He's had a very bad migraine today and has been on the couch since about 9:00 a.m. I appreciate your prayers for him more than you know. I feel like a very desperate mother right now. I would love to find something to eliminate his pain. We're still averaging 4-5 migraines per week. It's very painful for him and stressful for the entire family. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. If and have a prayer list, please ask them to include my Rex. I think children praying for children is just the sweetest thing. Guest guest
Melinda, I am daily on my knees praying for sweet Rex. I feel so much pain for him and for your family. Did you ever try the hydrotherapy on him? I have wanted to write to you the specifics about reflexology but it's kind of hard to tell you to work certain reflex points without being able to show you where they are. The best advice I can give you is to start with his feet. Gently rub his feet starting with the big toe and working your way down. Work the big toe very thouroughly, including the base of the toe. Ask Rex to tell you if you hit any sore spots. If you do, that is where there is an imbalance. Gently rub them out. If it gets too sore for him, stop and go to another area of the foot and then come back to those spots. Also work the liver reflex. It is only on the right foot. Imagine a line across his foot right under the ball of the foot across and another line at where you would think the " waistline " of the foot would be. You know, about half way where the instep curves in the most kind of creating a cinched in waistline look. (Let me know if this is greek to you) Now, in between these two lines is the liver reflex. Creep across this area from the inside out in diagnol lines. You can change hands and work in the opposite direction. Also work his hands. Start with the thumb and work it all especially the tip of the thumb, press that for awhile and see if it helps. Work all around the thumb and the base. Then you want to work the right palm first. Just rub or creep along in rows across the palm. You will be working the oints for the gall bladder, liver, right kidney, intestines and a couple of other. Then switch to the left palm anddo the same thing. Work it rows from outer palm towards the thumb. This will reflex the points for the pancreas, left kidney, intestines, etc.. Have Rex tell you where there are any sore spots and gently rub them out. Make sure he drinks plenty of water when doing reflexology. It releases a ton of toxins and they need to be flushed out. Do you have any lavender essential oil? That can help relieve tension if you rub some on his temples. If I can think of any other things to try I will let you know. Guest guest
Melinda, If you do the hydrotherapy, don't give up after the first attempt. You can repeat it every hour and it really works!! I am still very sick and miserable. I will try the colic tablets because I do have them. I agree with you about the girls vs. boys. I wasn't sick with my son but have been very sick with both of the girls. Of course, I'll probably be totally wrong. This is the first pregnancy where I don't have an immediate feeling of wether it is a girl or boy. I was right which all three of my children. This time I am stumped so far. We would all like another girl (except my son-grin) so that will have a little sister that is close to her. Let us know how little Rex is doing! Guest guest
, I'm sorry to just now be getting back with you - yesterday was a crazy day. I appreciate your prayers more my little Rexy more than you know. I'm so glad you reminded me to try the hydrotherapy. I'll try that today if we start to get a headache. It wouldn't surprise me if we do because the weather is unstable and falling barometers seem to correspond with the onset of a migraine for him. Are you feeling better? When I was pregnant, the homeopathic colic tablets (the kind you give to newborns) helped me with my morning sickness. I had *all day sickness* with Caeti-Leigh and only mild morning sickness with the boys, so my theory was always that girl pregnancies caused more morning sickness. Maybe you're having a girl! *g* Melinda ) Re: Liz-Melinda. Melinda, I am daily on my knees praying for sweet Rex. I feel so much pain for him and for your family. Guest guest
, was this the letter you were asking if I got? I've been so preoccupied I've forgotten which emails I've sent replies to. To tell you the truth, I'd forgotten to try the hydrotherapy, but it sounds like such a great idea, I'm going to try it next headache. Guest guest
Actually, I remember reading somewhere where the theory on this was that girls are estrogen dominant and that is why they cause more sickness versus boys who are testosterone dominant and it doesn't affect our bodies in the same way. Makes sense but I don't know if it is true or not!! Hugs,
Guest guest
Yep, this is the one Melinda. My heart just breaks for your little guy. I know only too well what migraines are like. It is miserable getting them a couple times a year, I couldn't imagine getting them 4-5 times per week. With my last pregnancy I got migraines every couple of days, it was so terrible. Of course, I couldn't take any medication for it like I normally would. When I started doing hydrotherapy it was amazing. I sure hope you can find something that works. Guest guest
I had 6 babies -- and I had morning sickness of varying intensity with each -- the worst time was with my 4th child (a daughter) -- the easiest time was with my #2 child (a son) ...however, I guessed the gender of each and every one of my kids -- and I was wrong EVERY TIME! Guest guest
, I'm so glad you mentioned the hydrotherapy again. I needed the reminder, for sure. Most of the time, I feel like I'm trying to remember so many things (with the neurodevelopmental therapy we do for him, along with our homeschooling, etc.) I just seem to *zone out* and forget some of what I should remember. I'm going to write myself a note for next time and hope that we get the kind of results you got. We just saw a new doctor today who is going to do a blood test for food allergies. We also started biofeedback, which I think will be helpful. I'm exhausted, so I'll get back into the conversational loop here online in a little while. Thanks again! Melinda ) Re: Liz-Melinda.
