Made NT's chicken liver pate for Lierre's too, stuffed into her egg whites

with

yolks added to pate. All the food and company was wonderful.

Left liver pink inside, excluded mushrooms in case anyone was on anti candida,

wine too for any who exclude alcohol. Made butter day before when it was over

90 and humid. No choice as needed for recipe. Didn't separate after 4 times as

long as usual in the food processor, had soft butter consistency, tasted fine.

All the commercial pates I've seen have butter in them.

Suze,

I'm SURE there was matzoh at that seder, but maybe it was round and soft--more

like pita bread than saltines....btw I LOVE sephardic cuisine. Persian is my

fave.

------>hmmm...maybe i'm remembering incorrectly, but i don't recall eating

matzoh at the israeli seder i attended years ago. maybe we did eat it and i

just don't remember. i used to be married to a sephardic israeli and their

cuisine is quite different than ashkenazi (european) jews. can't say it's

more or less healthy. probably too much omega 6s as a rule, but other than

that seems similar to Mediterranean fare, although not that reported by

ancel keys!

It might have been softer and fresher than what you buy in the store in

American, but it wasn't pita bread. Pita bread has yeast. I haven't tried

it, but they do sell an Israeli (i.e. more expensive) version of matza. It

is round. That's probably what you had. Whatever it was, it was unleavened

(without yeast) bread.
