Hi Tony,

Anything written as a controlled drug should in the British National

Formulary should be written in the register. Maybe worthwhile composing a

quick checkbox on your pharmacy stock control records?

All the best,

Ross

What is the general consensus regarding which drugs are recorded in the CD

Hi Ross,

Yes, that was my interpretation. However, it has been stated recently that

anything that is schedule 2 should be registered and it seems, looking at

the Misuse of Drugs Regs, that it may be correct.

Realistically, it's no real hassle adding a few other drugs but it is good

to know where we stand legally because I know lots of other locations only

record those listed as CD's in the BNF too.

Cheers

Hi Tony,

The situation should be clear that the BNF is the way to go. The BNF as at

number 62 includes CD classification by each schedule of the Misuse of Drugs

Act, which is a real upgrade. Making extra notes is a good idea, no harm in

going the extra mile and keeping your site safe.

All the best,

Ross

Hi Tony, Speak with your company medical advisor. CD's like diamorphine as you

know are recorded in the register but accountable drugs like diazepam do not

need to be recorded in the register only on the stock list for the

sickbay. Cheers,.
