Guest guest
Hello there Jim ,  I have worked for Lowlands and can suggest you give them a call...very good outfit and as you observe they pay well, they have lots of work on ship's (which beat working on platforms/rigs hands down)...better quality of everything on board and a ship actually goes somewhere, Lowlands does not interfere too much with medics, if you can do your job then that is fine.  Next you could try Frontier Medical who are now FrontierMedex in Mitcheldeane, Gloucestershire the very nice lady to contact is Adrienne Allan, good work, both offshore and onshore - again mostly ships and really good quality ships in seismic survey travelling world wide, good rotations - good support, but much less money than Lowlands.  Good luck and I am sure you will appreciate the move from platforms to ships.  Cheers.  P. From: Turnbull <divemaster1967@...> Subject: Loss of Rowan Contract " " < > Date: Monday, 8 August, 2011, 22:24  Hi Everyone I'm new to this site but have been in the remote medic industry for a number of years. I am about to do my offshore refresher course at Medipro Training in Teeside UK as it's by far the cheapest and one of the best providers of medical training around ( 1,200 GBP ) to Capita / Abermed 3,000 !!     Well worth thinking about as the training is excellent. On another note, i have heard that Oilfield Medics have lost the Rowan contract to either Abermed or Capita, some medical personnel have left Rowan due to OFM's incompetencies ( i.e. - asking if Topside Cover has to be 24/7 and can a nurse not just provide it from 9 'til 5 ...... WTF ?? ) I know they are OK at getting new-starts experience offshore but i have heard nothing credible said about OFM from anyone who's worked with them. Can you advise me on any other decent companies operating out of the uk who are credible and have a good reputation for looking after their employees? I know of Capita, Ex-Med, Abermed, .......... and Lowland Int. who pay 325 per day ......... any help would be most appreciated. Cheers, Jim Offshore & Remote Site Medic
