Hello All, I am in the negotiation process for a medic contract working behind

the wire in Southern Afghanistan LOGAP IV. This would be my first deployment.

Can anybody share an annual salary that I should shoot for? Any other

suggestions for items to inquire about or assist upon when signing up? Any help

is greatly appreciated. Garth

$110k per year is about average. If it's your first deployment they may try to

get you in for less.

Be safe out there man, in Iraq it was about 40 USD an hour or so, maybe 480 to

500 USD per day (6 to 7 days a week work/pay).

No idea about Afghanistan but it should also depend on if you are armed or not

and if you will have your own death and dismemberment and medical malpractice

insurance, or if the company will cover if for you instead (it can be as much as

25 to 50 USD per day for some insurances, depending on the variables).
