Guest guest
Zoll Defibrillators Require 'Urgent Medical Device Correction' Zoll AED Plus defibrillators require a software update to ensure that the devices deliver shocks appropriately, the manufacturer said in a letter to customers. To date, there has been at least one patient death in which faulty batteries interfered with shock delivery. Batteries that have been in use for over 3 years are most likely to be affected, according to the manufacturer. The company has advised owners of AED Plus defibrillators with serial numbers below " X_ _ _ 200000 " to do the following: * Obtain new software, available free of charge at http://www.ZOLLAEDPlusbatteryhelp.com; this update will allow better monitoring of battery charging. * After the update, change the batteries whenever prompted by the device.
