Hey :

I am going to attempt the test this summer as well. I can send you some PDF

study material and the titles of a few good books tomorrow when I am back in the

office. You have probably all ready been there but a great resource is the

IAFP. www.flightparamedic.org

I am on site in Equatorial Guinea, but would love to get my hands on your

critical care books on PDF.

Warm Regards

Hey thanks for that,

The <http://flightparamedic.org/> http://flightparamedic.org/ website seems to

be a great resource, have you taken the course and is it questions based or

lecture/theory based? Worth it you think? The other site is great, a big help.

Just to understand the process correctly, do most medics take the FP-C exam

separately from the CCP-C? said differently, does one exam usually come before

the other or do paramedics usually take whichever one they need to for their

work etc? okay, chat anytime and thanks for anything you can send – will work

on that Bledsoe book as well J

PS- if anyone want access to some poor .pdf versions of some critical care

books, please send me you gmail address and I can send you a share link – they

are good review and reference for anyone working in critical care.

Be safe

Regarding your question on FP-C v. CCP-C, I think this is a regionally dependent

question, however I would personally advise only spending your money on the FP-C

if you feel the certification is necessary. Local to me, those certifications

don't add much value other then personal satisfaction, so the expense isn't

worth it.

In other regions, FP-C is much more useful, but I believe that it is commonly

believed to be encompassing the CCP-C credential as well (similarly to how

CFRN--flight nursing--encompasses CTRN--ground transport nursing). If you are

getting someone else to pay for it, then go bonkers.

Regardless, for all straight testing certifications, I've always felt the best

way to pass the test is to take a specific preparatory course. I don't feel that

those courses are the best necessarily for being qualified (as they tend to

teach the test) but given the cost, I wouldn't want to be extremely knowledgable

and qualified but study the wrong information and therefore still fail.

This is great guys - real expertise and support with this exam from the

whole group. I truly appreciate everyone's responses and experience and

information. This will really help in my preparation and choice for the exam

(FP-C etc).

Thank you all so much...

And , so not as to be a total one-way, I have a lot of notes, online books

and other related study materials available to share with all those on the

listserve who are interested in the FP-C exam or that are just interested in

Critical Care stuff...if so, please send me your GMAIL email address and I

will send a google docs share request.

Again, thanks so much for all of your replies and help with this exam as

this seems to be a huge project and one that no one can do alone. Your

direction and support have helped considerably.
