Kathy -- , too! We have a whole closet of things she was dying to

have, then has hardly worn. When we went shopping recently, I made a deal

with her. I said that if new things weren't worn within one week, she had

to PAY ME for them out of her own money! I'm such a mean ol' mom! :)

I hadn't thought about an OCD angle (as doesn't have sensory problems

with clothing), but now you've got me thinking (scary!)..........

I've never seen 2 people have 5 children so organized and under control.

OK. . . did have to help the staff understand what their job

description was

but all the kids were so enthusiastic about choosing their shoes and once

they

had their shoes on they all wore them out of the store. had fun just

watching

all the excitement.

PS - don't throw away those blue caps (they go to the shelves)

I just LOVE hearing about list people meeting! I can't imagine taking Seth

to the shoe store, let alone 5 kids! LOL Seth thinks he's in heaven just

being at gymnastics with all the dangly, stimming shoes lying all around.

The shoe store is one place that is out of bounds for us! LOL Glad you and

nancy could meet again, Kathy.

Please, not a supermom just organized ut of necessity! JJ has a rocking

chair that seems to be constantly attached to his butt. Also a blue chew

tube that is chewed and waved.

LOL Donna! Maybe that's a good thing? LOL People haven't stopped Seth

from trying to take the shoes right off THEIR feet! LOL He has made a few

little ones cry when he steals their shoes off their feet and takes off

running with them. LOL One little 3 year old was showing off her new

sparkly pink sneakers at gymnastics. She went up to Seth and said " See. "

LOL That was all it took! He grabbed that off her foot soooooooo fast, she

let out a God awful shriek and he raaaaannnnnnn for the door. LOL She

cried for an hour, clutching her new shoes. I ended up taking Seth home

because he was insistent that he WAS going to dangle that sparkly, pink

sneaker. LOL I think her Mother is over the incident, but that little girl

is still traumatized and doesn't go NEAR Seth anymore. Maybe being afraid of

people would be a good thing in this case? LOL

How is doing? How are you doing?

Gail :-)

LOLOL Gail!!!! Too funny. Reminds me of a few weeks ago, Duff and I took

Allie and Maddie to Arboretum (a gorgeous, massive horticultural

center here) and we let Maddie run the hills....with me following pushing her

empty stroller. Well, we bumped into a little family pushing a baby in a

stroller...YEP, Maddie proceeded to climb into the stroller with baby still

in it!!!! Scared the daylights out of poor baby AND Mom and

DAd...LOL.....Maddie and Seth....they have more in common than their pica and

love of shoes, huh Gail??? LOL

is doing ok. She finished up day program at Renfrew and her doctor is

trying to persuade her to do outpatient (which is 3 nights a week, mostly

group meetings). She's not happy about that, but we're sitting back and

letting Jane (the doc) be the *bad guy* here. I am sure she'll do it; it's

not in her nature to NOT do what's asked of her. I'm hanging in there Gail.

It's scary, now that she's not as monitored. I took her out to buy her

new jeans the other day and she told me she thinks she's a size 8.......uh

uh!!! 5/6!!!!! (And she's 5'5 " ) But her spirits are good, and she's

acting more like herself. Day by day. Thanks for asking Gail!!!!

going as an outpatient now?

Sharon, how cool! I would love to see a picture of you in that

shirt. Too bad the jeans were too big. (Ain't that wonderful?)

Little moments like that remind me that if I don't lose anymore, I

really can't complain. I have my life back. A life I didn't even

know I was missing out on. Is it like that for you?

Congratulations on the loose size 14's!

Hugs!
