We have friends in their 7th or 8th week and we practiced last week before going for it full blast. I hope to learn some things from you as I lurk, to make it easier for us to succeed. Guest guest
Hello everyone! Just joined this group and looking for some guidance on becoming a Remote Medic. I'm coming to the end of my time in the British Military, and have served in various parts of the world both as a Medic and also as a Nurse. What I'm looking for is some advice on which courses to apply for that will help me to secure employment. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Laurie. Guest guest
Hello Laurie,  It is my understanding that the modern day Brit military medic has the most fantastic hands-on experience and accumulated knowledge of remote medicine.  As you are you are looking for offshore work then you will need the Offshore Survival Certificates (BOSIET) and I suggest the school near Blackpoole at the Marine College, an Offshore Medical Health Certificate and for rig/platform work the ubiquitous Offshore Medic's Cert...for this particular one I feel there should be a fast track for military medics...however that is only me...!  But I do suggest you contact 'Frontier Medical' in Mitcheldeane as they do not require the Offshore Medics cert because they do not do rig/platform contracts...but a lot of other exciting offshore and onshore stuffa and they enjoy the expertise of military medics.  Good luck and my personal thanks for the great job you miltary medics are doing in some shitty places.  Regards  P.
