Hello everyone;

I am new to this list although my wife has participated for some time. I am 54

years old and began to work out about two years ago. I have never been

especially flexible (I used to hate it in elementary school when the other kids

could sit cross-legged on their mats and I couldn't; then there were the 60's

when it was almost required that one sit cross-legged in Golden Gate park and I

couldn't. Total mark of shame!) and when I began to add weight to my workout I

eventually stressed muscles and ligaments in both rotator cuffs, wrists, left

forearm and groins. These injuries have been extremely difficult to recover

from and several continue to nag, limiting my workout routine. I guess the

point of this is that we older folk should be very careful when deciding after a

sedentary life to begin to " get into shape " . If not done wisely it could hurt

as much as help.
