Guest guest
In the latest 'Wise Traditions' (hope everyone got theirs by now) there is an article which mentions fish roe as a high-nutrient food and gives a source in Washington State. I ordered some and it came today and started to eat some.. the taste is pretty good.. however, once you start chewing it turns into such a sticky mess it sticks to every nook crook and crany in your mouth untill you can no longer chew! It took over 10 minutes of aggresive toothpick work to get all the bits out.. never experienced anything like it. Is this normal? How is dried fish roe supposed to be used? Eating plain while tastes good presents some serious mouth logistics problems. --
Guest guest
Follow-up.. I have figured out how to eat the dried salmon roe.. as delivered it's too waxy to chew. Solution is to chop, add to blender with olive oil, and chew lightly or continue makeing into a paste. The taste is pleasant but more so this is known as a " super food " high in A & D and Zinc and salt. Like pemmican a great travel food.
