Heidi So the Schwarzbein diet isn't a vegetarian diet? It sure looks like it could be from the table of contents (I'm reading on Amazon) Michele
Guest guest
butting in... it could be a veg diet as she sees it but i think she relies on a lot of soy for her veg plan. it is definitely not a veg diet in general....she just has plans for both types of diets. heather Michele Rowley <jrowley8@...> wrote: ----- Original Message ----- From: " Heidi > > BTW you can get her " The Schwarzbein Principle " which goes into great > detail about why fat doesn't cause you to gain weight. Guest guest
, So is this worth looking at? I would like some more recipe ideas, but not if they all suggest soy. Guest guest
Hi Michele, I just bought The Schwarzbein Principle yesterday and have read most of it. There is a vegetarian section but it doesn't really detract from the rest of the book (other than people thinking soy is okay, i suppose). i liked the book a lot, in fact i got the recipe version today and actually cooked from it (not one to use recipes much). check out the review on the weston price website and you will see they give it a conditional thumbs up because of the soy and also she says canola is okay and not coconut. sonya Re: Re: The Schwarzbein diet ----- Original Message ----- From: " Heidi > > BTW you can get her " The Schwarzbein Principle " which goes into great > detail about why fat doesn't cause you to gain weight. Guest guest
oh yes, i think it is worth looking at. the information in these books is good, i think. the second one was especially helpful for me. are you just looking for recipes or info as well? here is the book review that someone else mentioned: http://www.westonaprice.org/book_reviews/schwarzbein.html heather Michele Rowley <jrowley8@...> wrote: , So is this worth looking at? I haven't read the book, but I *suspect* that she's dead wrong on this. I know a *lot* of vegetarians and vegans, and the only ones that seem healthy are the ones who believe the " low-protein " crap ala Robbins, I presume because they don't eat soy. The healthiest vegetarians I know are these *vegans*, short, of course, of the vegetarian I know who eats sea food, eggs, and some raw milk. chris
Guest guest
I looked at the review and was impressed so I am going to get them from buy.com. Our library system has a hundred million holds on both the book and the cookbook. Normally I don't just buy a book without looking at it from the library, but I love having cookbooks, and I want to read her book (now, not a year from now) :-) Thanks so much for directing me to the review. That helped clinch it for me.
