My girlfriend's mom is famous (at least within her family) for her old-country stuffed cabbage, but she recently admitted that years ago she discovered she could replace a lot of the ingredients and preparation with Lipton powdered soup mix and nobody seemed to notice the difference. Anyway, thanks for the recipe! I can't wait to try it out. I do have one question, though: about how much is the cheap cut of pork supposed to weigh for that amount of ingredients? -
Guest guest
Hmmm--I'm not a good judge of weight, but I would say it is half the size of the crockpot, maybe 3 or 4 pounds. I actually don't think it matters much in the first stage, as you don't have to use all the broth when you pour it over the shredded pork before you broil it. That seems to be a common New England adaptation to commercialized, processed food. Put in just about every recipe that has beef and onions. You can use plain dried onions with a little salt to the same effect! -- Heidi
