Guest guest
My Dearest Lottie, thank you for the kind words, you are such a sweet sweet lady, I watched a Documentary once about Marinol Vs. Marijuana. Several people who had taken the Marinol said that it took longer than the pot to reduce their pain and was not as effective. And yes ma'am the pot is harsh on ones lungs. But if smoked through a bong (water pipe) is not as bad for the lungs. There is now another legal - copy of Marijuana. That can be bought at a tobacco/pipe store. Said to not be as hard on the lungs. For the working person that has to take drug test - this is not a drug persay and will pass a drug test if used. I have not heard or spoke directly to anyone that has used it. My son -in-law was telling us about it the other day, said he heard about it on the Stern radio show. Dilaudin is a very strong pain pill, it is stronger than morphine. When my mother was in the final stages of her cancer the morphine wasn't helping so they gave her Dilaudin and versaid, The versaid made her mean and hallucinated a lot. Lottie I think you are on a very addictive drug for pain and you probably would go through with drawel symptoms if you were to be taken off. Maybe you should try smoking a little pot to see if it would help you and not have all the side effects of your harsh drug. When my pain is unbearable (maybe once every couple of weeks) I take half of a 100 mg hydrocodine, only if I have some physical task to complete. Then I take the other half upon finishing so I can relax. I am again a big chicken when it comes to taking addictive drugs. I had a nephew passed away with Cystic Fibrosis, he had to take almost 30 pills to eat a snack or a whole meal, to help his food to digest. His last few years he was in severe pain all the time, he smoked pot and it helped him tremendously. He tried to not taking his pain pills as much as possible because he took so much already, and they made him feel weird. He never complained was always happy and the day before his body shut down he told everyone he was going home to sit beside Jesus and look after all of us. He was a true saint and was only 22, at the time the oldest living person with CF. This is a very interesting subject. We want to hear everyone's opinion, and I'm sure there are a lot of them. I have read that marijuana is not addictive and then, I have read where it is. It is also dangerous for your lungs, as in ordinary tobacco. If you are dying, and it helps your pain, that is a different story. I mentioned Marinol to my doctor and he gave me a prescription, but when I saw the price, " it " changed my mind. LOL While on the subject, what does everyone here do or take for extreme pain? I have been on Dilaudid and often worry about what would happen if I got off of it, like being able to have surgery that would negate the pain. Would I have to go to rehab, like little baby?
