Chaps,

We all know that increased fluid intake is used as a preventative

measure when ensuring adequate hydration during strenuous activities in

hot climates.

Obviously there are other factors to but focusing purely on the

hydration aspect. Does anyone have an academic reference for the actual

volumes required. I know its open to interpretation dependant on the

other factors and the individual but I'm looking for something that at

least try's for a specific. I've checked the OGP, Shell and our own

company guides and they all mention hydration but do not give specifics

other than frequent small sips.

Not interested in the sports drinks v water debate purely the volume

angle I want to pin down.

Many Thanks

Ian
