The natural caffeine in coffee isn't added just adjusted by roast length. Do agree that yerba mate is a healthier alternative and is different than caffeine. ------->my bag of yerba mate says it contains something called " mateine " ... " and alkaloid similar to caffeine " according to the label. but it says it affects the nervous system differently than caffeine does - says it is a *cool* stimulatant, whatever that means. i have no idea if this is just marketing hype or what. but thought i'd throw it in there.
