Guest guest
Bonnie, Rashelle and Connie, From what I have learned it isn't very serious if it isn't very wide. Mine is only about a little over 1 finger width wide. I tried to make an appointment with my OB/GYN but the scheduling lady must be gone today because I haven't been able to get through. From what others have said the only way to fix it ultimately is to get a tummy tuck after you are done having children. That's not something I am interested in. I just want my flat tummy back!! Grin Thanks for your responses. I will let you all know what the Dr. says after I see her. Love,
Guest guest
, I have no idea how serious this is, but it really seems like something to discuss with your doctor -- it might require surgery to correct it.... Two of my kids had inguinal hernias (where the abdominal wall doesn't quite close, a birth defect) and I know that when it was discovered, the doctors wanted to correct this fast before the intestines started pooching out and possibly strangulating..... Good luck! Bonnie Diastasis Recti Split Have any of you had a diastasis recti split from having babies? I have one from my last pregnancy (almost 16 months ago). I just realized it about 3 months ago while working my abs. I don't know why, but I put my hands on my abs and could stick them in the middle. Eeeewwwww!! The thing that is frustrating me is that my stomach is pooching out bad. I have very little fat on my abs and the upper abs are very toned BUT I cannot get my lower abs back to what is normal to me. I also cannot feel them when I try to squeeze and tighten them. I am at my normal prepregnancy weight and have been since 3 weeks after the birth but I can't wear all of my usual clothes because of my lower stomach. I was just wondering of anyone else has had this happen and has it gotten better? Oh, please say yes!!

Guest guest
Hi , Been gone all day, the usual Monday thing. I have never heard of what you're talking about but I'd get in to the Dr too. Even if it's not serious, I'd get a more expert opinion. Just to be on the safe side...
Guest guest
, I've heard of it, don't know much about it, but think surgery is the only way to correct it from what I understand. I bet if a tummy tuck is required in such a case, it is covered by insurance. Melinda Diastasis Recti Split Have any of you had a diastasis recti split from having babies? Guest guest
Thanks Kiki and Melinda, I am going to see the Dr. on Friday so we will see what she says. Before I worked out this morning I took my measurements. Everything is normal except my abs are 2 inches bigger than normal for me. No wonder why I am so uncomfortable wearing my normal pants. It's even more swollen and poochy at night. I am getting very anxious to see what she says about this. I know my ulcer is acting up terribly too. Easter ended up being very stressful. It was great for the first half of the day. It got bad when we spent the evening with my family. This is very normal, there is a lot of problems and strife. So my ulcer is probably a lot of the pain I am having right now. Yes, Melinda, I have heard the same thing that the tummy tuck would be covered by insurance. I just don't want to have another surgery. I have had too many throughout my life. Love,
Guest guest
Boy, , I can really relate to and understand the too many surgeries thing. I just hope it's something they can take care of in an easier way for you.
