Guest guest
Bonnie, I have an idea for you. Have you ever tried to sit on a stability ball while you are at the computer? Not only is it great for your abs but it is hard to sit on it and slouch your shoulders. My back does not hurt at all while I am at the computer since I started sitting on it. Just a thought! Guest guest
I'm on the run this morning, getting ready for the last long day of the SS. Tomorrow is my last day before it closes down Sunday, but it'll just be a few hours. I love it but I'm SOOOO ready for it to be over...LOL As for my choices yesterday, I think I refuse to participate in this thread today...LOL I couldn't resist anymore. TOM took his toll on me. I actually didn't eat much at all, until we left for the rodeo. Stopped at a fast food Mexican place and had a bean burrito. Then a couple drinks at the rodeo, then after we got home, my daughter and I were so hungry. We went and got the fixins' for con queso {sp?}. So we sat in the middle of the kitchen and pigged out on that and chips. I'm puffy today! Oh well, I know with this time, it coulda been so much worse, so I'm not beating myself up over it. I don't get into graze mode that bad or very often for that matter, so I feel lucky there. I say again, good thing today is another day. I'll have to wait till I get home to reply to the rest of the emails that have been flying since yesterday afternoon and I'm sure all today while I'm gone. Everyone have a wonderful day, I'll 'talk' to you later tonight hopefully. Love ya, Kiki
Guest guest
This is Connie checking in: Yesterday I did pretty good on my eating. I started the day(6AM) with a low fat yogurt with flax seeds~~then I exercised walk, breathe, tone (back today)~~then a piece of 35 calorie whole wheat toast with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter ~sprinkled with cinnamon and splenda. Off to work On break I have a LA soy bar (I think about like revival soy or any protein and soy bar) Lunch : I have a LA weightloss drink ( the same I think as slimfast) Break: apple (large) supper: 1 Lean hot pocket~my vegetables = 4 cherry tomatoes~1/4 cucumber~1stalk of celery~1 tablespoon of lite mayo (mixed together like a salad). Mixed berry Smoothie. dessert~1sugar free jello with 1 tablespoon of free cool whip snack~1 LA protein/soy bar. yoga,LL reflexology and face and bible study before bed. :-) Today so far everything the same~in fact about everyday the same except for supper and it is always, 1protein (6 oz) 1 starch~3 vegetables~with same small measurements. A lean pocket or healthy choice TV dinner (any of those type of healthy brands) are always considered 1 protein and 1 starch. You stay on this until you have lost the weight you want and then you go on maintenance which they tell me is so much more. So far I have lost 8#'s and my daughter 22 #s.. and we both feel GREAT. Just thought I would share. Love All, Connie PS: in the mornings when my girlfriend can , we walk in the gym at the schools at 6:30 am~that is more fun than doing it alone but so far I can't get her to try LL :-( I think I am finished with this book. Hugs :-) Connie CHOICES - 01/21/05 Hi Everyone, Today is Friday -- almost the weekend! I completed my 45+ LL breaths/exercises. Yesterday, while waiting at the radiologist (for a routine mammogram) I had nothing to do -- so I simply did a bunch of LL breaths while sitting in that cute little wrapper (you know, the one that can wrap around you at least 3 times and which you have problems keeping " decent " ) - LOL! How nice to have something good-for-you to do that is so mobile! The back of my neck/upper shoulders has been sore recently -- probably from hunching over the keyboard -- so I started doing a neck roll (while LL breathing) -- feels good but it's so very noisy -- like thousands of tiny bubbles popping -- what is this noise???? My eating was on target -- weight was the same this morning, I seem to lose a bit, then maintain -- sure beats it going up! Jenni -- maybe your " depression " is simply your body letting go of all the tension/stress you've had to cope with lately? Remember back when you were in school, and you studied like the dickens for a final -- finally took it, did well, and you were elated for a short period -- then you fell into a slump? Relax, try to get out in the sun (sunlight always helps me when I get moody), take lots of LL breaths, pamper yourself a bit -- and remember you have ALL of here wishing you the best! And Rashelle -- re the butter visualization -- I'm still feeling GREASY!!! LOL! Thanks, you're right, the 1/4 pounds do add up -- and I'm just praying that I can continue this losing mode! Guest guest
Hi , No I haven't tried it -- I do have a ball at home that I flex my back with, I'll try using it for working there. However, I can't picture trying it at work -- I have a cubical (no door), and I work with a bunch of kids (average age is likely 30 years old). We get along nicely, but they like to sneak up on me and make me jump, jump over my neighbors cube and " scare " me by suddenly " appearing " in my space, flip paper and toys into my area so that they'll suddenly be floating down onto my keyboard, etc. I can just see what they might try if I were balancing on a ball -- at the very least, they'd all have to come and offer me hints and tips and disaster stories and .... As I said, a bunch of (very nice) kids! LOL! Bonnie Re: CHOICES - 01/21/05 Bonnie, I have an idea for you. Have you ever tried to sit on a stability ball while you are at the computer? Guest guest
They call me MOM! Ad I get about as much respect from this group as I do from my kids! but they always tell me about their kids, ask help for personal problems, etc., etc. And I think any of them would do anything for me! They're a really nice group of young people! Something I do find interesting -- I do not curse or use obscenities -- and they are really careful how they talk around me -- yet the young woman who works with me, and my manager who is only 8 years younger (and also female) than me, gets the full gutter-mouth treatment! I like being treated this way -- and I don't think it hurts for them to be careful with their language -- actually, I kind of wish that all the gutter language would become " incorrect " -- I hate hearing it! And they make sure that I don't lift anything, they crawl under my desk when there are connection problems, etc. -- they treat me just like they treat their mothers!!! Guest guest
I've heard sitting on the stability ball forces you to work your core muscles - - is that right? I'd love to hear how y'all are using stability balls to keep fit. Melinda ) Re: CHOICES - 01/21/05 Bonnie, I have an idea for you. Guest guest
Melinda, It really does work the core muscles. Especially if you lift one leg for a bit and then the other. It really helps my back feel much better than when I sit in a chair. I have even been known to eat on one. My kids love to balance on them too. They can roll across the house while balancing on their hands and knees on the ball!
