Hi Connie,

The neat thing about acupuncture is that you don't feel the needle at all --

absolutely no pain or discomfort.

When I was going to the acupuncturist, we became friendly -- and he " treated " my

kids for me (demonstration type treatment, didn't have the money for a lot back

then!). Anyway, my son Shan (the off-the-wall hyperactive kid) was really nosy

about the procedure -- he was about 13-14 then -- and he wouldn't lay all the

way down, his head was up as he was looking at what was happening, etc. So Dr.

Hilou said " watch this point " (to me) -- and he inserted a needle into Shan

(sorry, I no longer recall the location!) and Shan's eyes hooded over and he

simply dropped back to the table -- and he remained relaxed for the rest of the

visit! I had never seen this kid relaxed before -- even when asleep he was

constantly moving! I tried using acupressure on the point for a while,

apparently I wasn't doing it right or something -- I couldn't get that effect!

And when my oldest daughter went in, he eliminated all of her menstrual pain --

this effect lasted for perhaps a year -- by the time it started up again, we

could no longer find him (where do doctors go when they move or ?) -- we looked

through area phone books, etc., no dice. And no other acupuncturist (in our

limited exploration) has been as effective....

Anyway, I think the whole subject of acupuncture is fascinating -- and I wish

that practitioners were like Dr. Hilou and not like some of the weird " new-age "

ones I've gone to (I never felt they had a whole lot of skill, just a lot of

feel-good patter).

Connie,

Does it matter which ear you squeeze? I just did both and I think they

may

hurt. But then again, maybe I did it to hard? So you squeeze your ear,

do a

breath and it helps your back? I'm sorry, just trying to get this

right. I'm

still fighting my back pain on and off. So much for my light bulb and

it

being carbs...LOL

Love ya,

Kiki

Choices - 1/25/2005

Good morning everyone!

Well, I've actually managed to get out of the recliner and off the couch and

move around some. I was able to do about 10 breaths yesterday. I just didn't

do them as deep....if I did them too deep it hurt. I also did some of my

reflexology and that really helped with the pain! I was surprised. I was

comfortable enough to not take any Advil. I did still take the muscle relaxers

because I don't want my back freezing up again...that is just so painful!

I did pretty good yesterday. I actually didn't really eat anything except

some cheese and a hotdog without the roll in the mid afternoon. Just wasn't

hungry. Didn't drink enough water either, so I'm already on my second bottle

this morning. I had 3 slices of a personal pan cheese pizza last night and 2

bread sticks. I was soooooooo sleepy afterwards! Yuk! I know I'll probably

pay for eating the " white " yesterday, but it was either that or mac and cheese

(the only thing that my son can make right now LOL) Well, he can zap just about

anything, but cooking...well, it's not something he ever wanted to learn. My

middle son can cook! Wow, can he cook! He's like his dad.

Speaking of my middle son, would you please pray for my Airman Rob and his

fiancé ? They have some major decisions to make in the upcoming months

and they are not easy ones. I can't go into detail as I promised Rob when I

asked for prayer I wouldn't but I can say this involves more than just the two

of them. I can also say that is putting off the wedding because of all

this and Rob wants to get married as soon as possible. Now, since many of us

our mom's and most of us are women and all of us are very intelligent I think

you can read between the lines. If not, please don't ask, I can't say anymore.

Just pray hard! I know I can count on you all :)

love you,

Jenni

Re: Choices - 1/25/2005

Hi all!!!

I think the cyber gremlins are at work again. It appears that I haven't

gotten some of the posts in the past day or two. Grrrrrrrrrrrr... If I've

missed

anything along the way, that's got to be why. Not that I'm off on some fabu

trip with some hottie cowboy...LOL

Yesterday I pretty much slept again. After doing that all morning Sunday to

try to rid myself of what thankfully didn't turn into full blown crud.

Probably over did it Sunday going to Colorado Springs with my daughter, but

oh well.

We ate at Texas Roadhouse and yes, I had some rolls...LOL Had the chicken

critter salad or whatever it's called and rattlesnake bites. That sounds

way

worse than what it really is. It's just cheese, chopped jalapenos {sp} in a

batter...I know bad batter. But they were SOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!! That's

really

all I had Sunday. Then it was sleep all morning yesterday again, and I

think

I'm able to be saying buh-bye to whatever tried to take up residence in my

body. Didn't eat until late last night, just had no appetite. Then I had a

taco

salad from Taco Bell. I just feel my body needs the carbs, that I normally

don't eat, to help it heal. At least it wasn't pizza and fries like the

last

time...LOL So today, I'm fighting the puffy's. Ugggg, I hate this feeling!

But I think, no I know, I'm back on track with my chosen WOE. I've got

laundry

started, the cat boxes cleaned and will start to tackle all that got left

while I was at the SS. I'm gonna take some me time, I hope, as well.

Y'all are doing so great!!!

Love ya,

Kiki

Me too , I do both too. And pilates is WONDERFUL with Rashelle's life lift

don't you think? Especially the 100 " s. I can really feel my tummy muscles

tighten. I think a lot of Rashelle's exercises are pilates based ~~aren't they

Rashelle, or am I mistaken? Love< Connie

Hi Connie and ,

Many of the positions used in the different videos are based on Pilates,

Calinetics, Yoga, a book with exercises for beautiful legs that my Mom got for

me when I was a little girl after I was recovering from being crippled in the

fourth grade. My legs were so awful and so weak and she thought they would help.

They totally reshaped my legs so I have included them. Many of them are the

chair exercises included in the Workout #2 video and soon to be DVD.

Any good stretching or flexing poses are great combined with LifeLift.

Take care,

Rashelle
