Guest guest
Hi all!!! I think the cyber gremlins are at work again. It appears that I haven't gotten some of the posts in the past day or two. Grrrrrrrrrrrr... If I've missed anything along the way, that's got to be why. Not that I'm off on some fabu trip with some hottie cowboy...LOL Yesterday I pretty much slept again. After doing that all morning Sunday to try to rid myself of what thankfully didn't turn into full blown crud. Probably over did it Sunday going to Colorado Springs with my daughter, but oh well. We ate at Texas Roadhouse and yes, I had some rolls...LOL Had the chicken critter salad or whatever it's called and rattlesnake bites. That sounds way worse than what it really is. It's just cheese, chopped jalapenos {sp} in a batter...I know bad batter. But they were SOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!! That's really all I had Sunday. Then it was sleep all morning yesterday again, and I think I'm able to be saying buh-bye to whatever tried to take up residence in my body. Didn't eat until late last night, just had no appetite. Then I had a taco salad from Taco Bell. I just feel my body needs the carbs, that I normally don't eat, to help it heal. At least it wasn't pizza and fries like the last time...LOL So today, I'm fighting the puffy's. Ugggg, I hate this feeling! But I think, no I know, I'm back on track with my chosen WOE. I've got laundry started, the cat boxes cleaned and will start to tackle all that got left while I was at the SS. I'm gonna take some me time, I hope, as well. Y'all are doing so great!!! Guest guest
Connie, Does it matter which ear you squeeze? I just did both and I think they may hurt. But then again, maybe I did it to hard? So you squeeze your ear, do a breath and it helps your back? I'm sorry, just trying to get this right. I'm still fighting my back pain on and off. So much for my light bulb and it being carbs...LOL Love ya, Kiki
Guest guest
Jenni, I didn't get anything about you hurting your back! I feel like a heel now, even tho it wasn't my fault. I'm so sorry you're having to go thru this pain and am praying now for you to have a speedy healing. Take it easy, you don't want to over do anything with a bad back. Guest guest
Jenni, I will pray that God shows Rob and the right path to take. Just remember, that if the plans change and it doesn't happen, then that's probably the best for both of them. I know I've had to make that decision and it was the right one. I know Rob and are both hurting, and I will pray that their hearts are strong and accepting of whatever is to be. What ever's waiting for them, each other or another, it will be so wonderful after they get thru all this mess. Give him a hug for me and tell him he/they are in my prayers... Love you, Kiki
Guest guest
Jenni, Thanks for sharing Hemmingway. He was a special pup, you can tell that. I do know how you felt having to make that awful decision. We had to do it, not to awfully long ago, with our beloved Tasha. We're a cat family, and had had her for abut 22 years. We have 3 new ones now {felt she was telling us it was OK and it was time} and love them dearly, but they will never replace her. She was a very special kitty. On an up note, I saw a sigh this past weekend and if it hadn't been in such a country mode, wold have bought it. It said...Cats are like potato chips, you can't have just one. I'd say, that goes for dogs, for you! Love you, Kiki

Guest guest
You bet Jenni!! Choices - 1/25/2005 Good morning everyone! Well, I've actually managed to get out of the recliner and off the couch and move around some. I was able to do about 10 breaths yesterday. I just didn't do them as deep....if I did them too deep it hurt. I also did some of my reflexology and that really helped with the pain! I was surprised. I was comfortable enough to not take any Advil. I did still take the muscle relaxers because I don't want my back freezing up again...that is just so painful! I did pretty good yesterday. I actually didn't really eat anything except some cheese and a hotdog without the roll in the mid afternoon. Just wasn't hungry. Didn't drink enough water either, so I'm already on my second bottle this morning. I had 3 slices of a personal pan cheese pizza last night and 2 bread sticks. I was soooooooo sleepy afterwards! Yuk! I know I'll probably pay for eating the " white " yesterday, but it was either that or mac and cheese (the only thing that my son can make right now LOL) Well, he can zap just about anything, but cooking...well, it's not something he ever wanted to learn. My middle son can cook! Wow, can he cook! He's like his dad. Speaking of my middle son, would you please pray for my Airman Rob and his fiancé ? They have some major decisions to make in the upcoming months and they are not easy ones. I can't go into detail as I promised Rob when I asked for prayer I wouldn't but I can say this involves more than just the two of them. I can also say that is putting off the wedding because of all this and Rob wants to get married as soon as possible. Now, since many of us our mom's and most of us are women and all of us are very intelligent I think you can read between the lines. If not, please don't ask, I can't say anymore. Just pray hard! I know I can count on you all love you, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom! May God guide and protect our troops!
Guest guest
Jenni, Of course my prayers are added for your son. Do remember, through all this with Rob and -- that a broken engagement is a LOT less painful (in the long-run) than a rotten marriage. My son Jim and his fiancé broke their engagement last June, and I think Jim was quite down for a while, may have even contributed to his poor job hunt at the first. However, now that he's getting distanced from from the breakup, he's seeing that if a woman could break off with a man at a low point in his life (he had just gotten his Ph.D. and was unemployed -- her major complaint was that he owed " too much money in school bills " and that she wanted to wait to get married -- AFTER he had paid off his debt, was able to buy a house, etc.) that she was unlikely to stick by him through life's other hurdles. On the other hand, my daughter Meagan found herself pregnant and unmarried, and is finally marrying the baby's father this March (when little Emma will be 16 months old). She waited (and in some aspects I think correctly) because she wanted a marriage with a man who loved her, not felt obligated to her. In her case, I think if she had jumped into marriage right away, she might never had the feeling of being loved and wanted. But has stuck with her, and he loves both her and Emma -- so all is working out okay. This is supposed to be a note, not a book -- but what I'm trying to say is there are valid reasons to want to wait (such as making sure that the love is there and solid) and invalid reasons (such as " I want to be taken care of financially, and have no money worries... " ) -- and the latter is not worth working through, whereas the former most assuredly is.... So my prayers are being lifted for Rob and .... Bonnie Choices - 1/25/2005 Good morning everyone! Guest guest
Jenni and all, Everyone speaks so highly of the reflexology -- and when I do it, I see no effects. So obviously, I'm doing something wrong! But what? I've done it with the video, and I've done it with the chart in my lap. Essentially, I sit on the sofa in a yoga-type position, hold one foot in both hands, and try to knead a pressure point. I seldom find any points that are painful (well, other than blisters!). I have some foot problems, which lead to leg/hip soreness -- so I know that it should work for me. I have one particular spot (sort of at the tip of my middle toe) that gets numb and very sore (had it checked out by a podiatrist recently, no nerve damage) -- I have found that if I knead this area while still in bed, I don't tend to stumble when I get up -- but other than this, nothing... (I can't " find " the point of pain during the day -- I know it's there and I feel it, but when I try to touch it and pinpoint the location, I just can't. Sometimes it bothers me when walking -- but when I sit down and take off my shoes, it simply " disappears " .) Could someone please walk me through exactly what they do, perhaps for just one point? Like how hard do you press, what do you feel, etc. I like the face massage/acupressure/? -- I always feel better after that -- and I think it lifts my face some....but the foot regime is eluding me. Thanks, Bonnie Choices - 1/25/2005 Good morning everyone! Well, I've actually managed to get out of the recliner and off the couch and move around some. I was able to do about 10 breaths yesterday. Guest guest
Hi Jenni, I have back problems on and off myself :-( Have you tried squeezing your ear? On the outside of your ear lobe about half way down, press on that , that cartilage right there, is it sore there? and do a LL breath, that always give me relief from back and neck muscles. Yoga helps me keep my back from kinking up....gentle yoga...have you tried that (not now of course)? When I get lazy and don't do my yoga I can really tell in my back and neck and shoulders. Just what helps me dear Jenni. :-) Big Hug, Connie Choices - 1/25/2005 Good morning everyone! Well, I've actually managed to get out of the recliner and off the couch and move around some. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, Thank you for your kinds words There is quite a bit more to it than this but suffice to say it has a major impact on 3 people and they aren't breaking up or not getting married...she just wants to postpone it for a while and it is tearing Rob up. Due to our faith, this has hurt Rob more than you could possibly imagine. I know that God works all to His glory...and He will work this to a happy ending...whatever that is. with love, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom! May God guide and protect our troops! Guest guest
Hi Connie I will try the ear pressure. I do Pilates to stretch me out - obviously haven't done it since I hurt my back. I am thinking that because I didn't do it for a few days, it caused this. We got a puppy for my husband this past week (his dear sweet Hemmingway died last may...you can see his memorial at http://www.srdogs.com/Pages/loss.3.html) We had him boxed in the kitchen for a few days until we went and got a cage. We had to put the gate up very high because the little stinker would climb over the gate! Rick thinks I must have twisted my back when I was lifting her over the gate. I don't remember anything pulling but it was 2AM LOL Thanks for the great advice! love you, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom! May God guide and protect our troops! Choices - 1/25/2005 Good morning everyone! Guest guest
Hi Kiki, I do both ears at the same time and breathe as I squeeze, when I don't have back and/or neck pain my ears do NOT hurt when I do this but when I do they are tender, you are supposed to do it until the pain is relieved in your ears. At lest until it feels better on your ears when you squeeze, but don't hurt yourself!!!! Love, Connie ~Let me know if this helps. :-) Re: Choices - 1/25/2005 Connie, Does it matter which ear you squeeze? I just did both and I think they may hurt. But then again, maybe I did it to hard? So you squeeze your ear, do a breath and it helps your back? I'm sorry, just trying to get this right. I'm still fighting my back pain on and off. So much for my light bulb and it being carbs...LOL Love ya, Kiki
Guest guest
and where EXACTLY on the ear lobe -- just above your earrings? or lower? I definitely want this one!!! to get rid of back and neck pain, wow! -- just tried it, holding both earlobes, and I'm feeling somewhat hyperventilated LOL! but have no back or neck pain at the moment, so maybe it doesn't have anything to work on? Many years ago, I went to an acupuncturist -- he " measured " me electronically all over my body, then did 3 full treatments and a continuous weight-reduction treatment -- which was a small needle left in one ear -- I lost perhaps 60-80 pounds (never had a good initial weight, I hated those scales at that point!) AND I felt marvelously wonderfully healthy -- went through a divorce (nasty, brutal), really big financial problems, then a job transfer (which put me in a new city/state, just pulling out financially, and on my own for the first time in 28 years -- scary) and I stayed healthy, slender, and reasonably upbeat! However, I moved away from where he practiced and haven't been able to find an acupuncturist here that seems to practice the same as he did -- tried a couple, but they simply did not impress me, saw no real benefits -- someday, I'll try again.... Guest guest
Thanks for sharing that Jenni, I cried, Thanks Goodness no one came in the office. I have a dog too his name is Baby Shae. Our daughters gave him to my husband for Fathers day 9 years ago and he is one of the family. I feel your pain of loss. Love, Connie Re: Choices - 1/25/2005 Try this I left a bracket on the other one...shouldn't have done that. http://www.srdogs.com/Pages/loss.3.html love you, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom! May God guide and protect our troops! Choices - 1/25/2005 Good morning everyone!
Guest guest
Half way down your earlobe~not your earlobe~ on the outside of your ear. I would LOVE to find a good reflexologies but not acupuncture I am afraid of needles. :-) Re: Choices - 1/25/2005 Connie, Does it matter which ear you squeeze? Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My son has a phone interview this afternoon for a research position -- not the perfect job by any means, but nevertheless, a JOB -- please, please remember to lift a prayer for him -- if he could get this, at least he'll be started on his quest for a career..... Thank you everyone, I can't tell you how much I appreciate what I think you'll all do for him! Bonnie Re: Choices - 1/25/2005 Connie, Does it matter which ear you squeeze? Guest guest
Thank you so much Kiki. Your compassion and understanding mean the world to me right now! with love, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom! May God guide and protect our troops! Re: Choices - 1/25/2005 Jenni, I will pray that God shows Rob and the right path to take.

We didn't realize how much of a void their was until we got this little lady. love you, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom! May God guide and protect our troops! Choices - 1/25/2005 Good morning everyone!
