Hey Bonnie, come on here to Colorado. Last night at 9:00 it was 4 or 6

below, I forget. {not figuring in the WC-wind chill} But then does it really

matter when the temps get that low? LOL We're headed towards a high of mid to

upper 30's today. 50's by the weekend. Lots of snow here too :)

You're doing great! I wish I could get myself motivated to do something,

anything. I don't know what my problem is at the moment. I'm hoping that all

y'all will put that fire under me to get moving and breathing, and SOON!!!! I

refuse to go into spring, when it actually gets here, with extra fluff...

Love ya,

Kiki

Hi Everyone,

Well, it's Thursday. Yesterday my eating was pretty good, no deviations or

extras. And for tonight I made a huge pot of soup (tomato basil with meatballs)

-- it's cold here (it's 31 degrees and for Austin that's chilly....) -- I find

that a hearty soup fills me up and I don't start looking for nibbles later in

the evening.

This morning I did my 40+ Life Lift breaths and exercises. I really feel so much

better after them, there's no chance of my not doing them (as long as I'm

feeling good, I doubt that I would want to do anything much if I were felling

sick!!!).

This morning, my weight was 1/4 pound LOWER than it's been for over a year! Not

much, but it's at least in the right direction!

Question: Each morning, I do some leg lifts --- lay on my back, do a LL breath,

then during the " lift " I raise my legs about 10 inches off the floor and hold.

My belly region is a soft mass of " blubber " (someone said fluffy, sounds a lot

nicer than blubber!!) -- today I happened to put my hand on my belly area during

the leg lift and it was rock hard -- this doesn't happen during the typical LL

lifting or any of the other exercises. My question is, does this mean that my

belly region is actually very out-of-shape muscle? or is there some way that fat

turns " hard " during certain stress? or???

Kiki,

All I can say is brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I definitely do NOT like being cold! I was

raised in Ohio, then lived for many years in the Idaho panhandle -- so I've

gotten cold in my lifetime! -- but now I very much prefer warmer climes! We've

already bought a lot in FL to build our retirement home!!!

And we're all here to motivate you -- maybe you could go outside and make a

snowman (breathe, lift, then bend over and roooooooooll! LOL!). I think you

likely burn calories just keeping body temps normal, and all that blankety-blank

snow shoveling should be mighty good exercise!

Something I do for food -- I put " limits " on myself, for example, I am NOT

allowing myself to eat anything from the time I walk into my house until I sit

down for supper (my worst snacking time) -- it works for me, far better than

trying to say that I'll simply eat only a little! And I've been making meals the

night before (keeps that time span shorter!) -- last night I made a huge pot of

a hearty, healthy soup -- it satisfies, yet there's nothing in it that's not

" legal " (except for the sodium content! my gosh, I looked at the bouillon cubes

that I was generously dropping in -- 900 mg salt/cube! I have got to find a

lower sodium source of bouillon!!!).

Keep on trying, it'll click!
