RE: Coconut site

I found a couple sites that have boards with threads about both the CO and

the cinnamon. I used the cinnamon in my coffee for a while, but since I don't

weigh...I have no idea if it helped me lose like the ladies of the board are

saying. I don't really know why I stopped using the cinnamon, got lazy and

forgot I guess. I'm not sure if I should post the board links on here, so if

any

one is interested, email mail me privately and I'll be happy to send them to

you. Put coconut oil and or cinnamon in the subject so I don't delete you, if

I don't recognize your email form here. There is LOTS of good info on these.

I also tried the OoO {oil of oregano}. I was mostly interested in the energy

it was sposed to give you. It did nothing for me either, and I did give that

a good chance!

Love ya,

Kiki

Coconut site

Connie, it's called Tropical Traditions. They sell it but there is also

a

message board and info on the site. Welcome to Tropical Traditions! If

you try

it, I sure hope it works better for you, than it did for me. Just a

reminder, I got the NOW brand. They have 2 kinds the right and the

wrong...LOL I

found it in the grocery section of my health food and sup. store. I

have

considered trying it to see if it would keep me from burning in the sun.

I stay out

of it as a rule tho. Hope I was of some help to you...

Connie,

Before you order, also look at http://www.coconutoil-online.com/. I bought both

the Tropical Traditions and this one, we decided we prefer the coconutty odor a

bit better with this one. I also buy their desiccated coconut, the stuff is far

tastier than what I can buy locally.

I also bought some coconut oil from a local Indian store -- although it was

probably a good oil, it wasn't a good taste -- the money saved was NOT worth it.

And I bought the coconut cream, still haven't figured out how to use it! (it's

almost an oil, just where in the world do I use it????? some of the people say

they simply eat it [ugh, greasy!] -- guess it would go well in cocoa, but that's

an indulgence drink for me....). I like fresh coconut, too -- but I can eat an

entire coconut in one or two days -- probably a zillion calories!

If nothing else, go to the web site and read up on coconut oil and the various

ways it's processed, then make your decision based on what you want out of

it.... And remember, a little lasts a long time!

Thanks Bonnie, will do! 'First' magazine January issue says it flushes

up to 10 pounds a week off and revs your metabolism by 50%. That would

be great!! Connie :-)

yes, that would be great -- but it sure didn't happen with me! I would be super

happy with something that just let me lose 1/2 pound per week -- then I could

lose these extra 20 pounds in a year.... Instead, I'm roughly the same weight

today that I was a year ago, in spite of rigorously exercising and watching my

diet!

I guess that if you normally had a great deal of added fat to your diet, and if

you replaced it with the coconut oil, then maybe you would see these effects?

But if you're like me and actually eat very little added fats, then all it seems

to do is add calories..... But at least they are healthy calories! LOL!

I almost never fry foods (eggs, sometimes), never deep-fry -- and the coconut

oil doesn't work well with salad dressings (I very much prefer olive oil for

that). Our meats are typically broiled (outside on the grill -- no clean up!) or

made into soups (very lean, I even cool the broth and remove the fats) --

sometimes I " fry " up hamburger meat, but even that I strain and rinse -- we just

don't particularly like a lot of fats! Most of our fat intake comes from dairy

products and the type of fats that you can't see in meats....
