Guest guest
Oxidation is a form of decomposition. It helps oils from going rancid. Which is fine but it does not inhibit growth of bacteria. In something like dry dog food there is no water so rancidity is the only concern. When you bring water into the picture then you will need an antibacterial preservative. I hope this makes it clearer. Guest guest
This is the clearest explanation. Sometimes the brain is so rattled it needs to have that one thing that clicks in there to make something understandable. Thanks, SD Re: natural preservatives > > > > > >Date: Sat, 23 Mar 2002 13:43:11 EST > > > > > > > > > > > >In a message dated 3/23/02 8:20:26 AM Central Standard Time, > > > > > >fiveftnutn@k... writes: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > De, > > > > > > > I may not be correct but that is what I just read about > > > vitamin E. Guest guest
Hi and thanks for the info. I didn't mean to confuse the issue by posting my question under the " preservative " subject. I'm aware of vit e being an antioxidant, I just wanted to know if there was a difference between the vitamin e capsules and the vitamin e t-50. I have both and wanted to know if when a recipe calls for a vitamin e capsule, could I use the t-50 instead and reap the benefits of the capsules also. Selket > Yup - vitamin E capsules are usually just alpha-tocopherol. T-50 > (such as the one sold as Coviox) is mixed tocopherols. More stable, > more reliable. Guest guest
Tinosan SDC and Geogard Ultra (Lonza) are natural and the only ones that I have used. I have read about DermaSoft 688 eco that I haven't used. If you want the company that carries the first two. Email me zonella@.... Although they cost a little more than the standard ones you use much less of them to work and for me work out more economically than the other type.
