Guest guest
Hi All, Well, an update on my family -- your prayers are working.... My son-in-law has (voluntarily) discontinued the narcotic that he was starting to abuse -- he's very crotchety and in a great deal of pain, but his direction is the only viable one and I truly respect him for this decision -- my daughter is backing him 100% and working with him however she can -- he's been really sick this past week, but has continued going in to work (at least part of the time) -- he's trying with everything he's got and I sure hope he beats this demon! My daughter go a (part-time) job yesterday. It's poorly paid ($7.50/hour) but it's with the county, and will segue over to a full-time job in the December-February timeframe. The county only hires from within, she's been trying to break into the work force there, and this is her opportunity. It will use her degree (criminal justice) -- and could lead (eventually) to a comfortably-paid management position. The man who hired her for the part-time job happened to have worked with her many years ago, and immediately remembered her and her capabilities/assets -- he wants her on his team and this is the only path open to him. So she's going to try getting a part-time Christmas job (like at Jo-Ann's Fabrics), then hang in there for the full job. My son (Ph.D. in chemistry) hasn't had any luck yet -- the job he did so well on the interview with instituted a hiring freeze, another job that was looking at him just laid off over half their work force -- but he's now looking at a post-doc which he suits to a tee -- here's hoping! And my youngest still hasn't found a job (she's a college student) -- got a call from her yesterday, seems she met all her bills this month -- with the rent money (which we supply) -- another check from the Bonnie/Harry bank went out. Hopefully with the Christmas season she can find something.... And my son in Afghanistan received the cookies last night !!!! He's one happy camper! His email indicated that he and his buddies may well be on their way to getting sick (of over-indulgence) -- he's still bored, something that I am truly thankful for! And my other 2 kids are both doing well.... As usual, a long rambling note -- just wanted to let everyone know that their prayers are working, and are ever so much appreciated. And believe me, everyone of you are included in mine! Bonnie
