it's either a synthetic, or a blend of several oils...benzoin, peru balsam,

etc. strong sensitizer, unfortunately.

Know of one soap supplier who sells it with her eos with the frank

admission that she has no idea what it is.

whether you choose to put 'unknown quantities' in your products is, of

course, a personal decision.

The Amber that is sold as an essential oil, that smells sweet and rich and

resinous (the way Cat's blend will!) is NOT an essential oil, but a blend

of other oils...mostly resins.

there is a " liquidamber orientalis " but folks it does not smell like the

'Amber Oil' you are discussing...honest.

one thing to remember when playing with that amber blend...several of the

components are STRONG sensitizers. Be very very cautious about it's use on

the skin... it should NEVER be used on broken or irritated skin, or you

can be setting yourself up for lifelong problems with contact dermatitis.

It's a lovely, yummy blend.... but I would only use it in an aroma lamp,

not as a perfume.

Hi Amber,

My son is 5 months old and also has Scoliosis. He was

Diagnosed at 2 months and had a 32 degree curve at that time. Since

then he has progressed to 50 degrees. is right about the

braces, you should consider a cast. I am in the process of getting

in a cast. We have never had a brace and I have not heard

anything good about them in the correction of Severe Infantile

Scoliosis. Please feel free to call me also. My # is 949-305-

8865. I am in California.

Take Care,

Crista

Hi

Zane is doing okay he is sitting up and crawling now, I have to be

much more aware of what is going on with him now that he is into

everything. I also had to invest in some gates for when I put him on

the floor to be mobile... the documentry is going okay... i am having

camera problems, as in i need a new one lol... soon enough though.. i

think my camera is as old as i am... time to move into the 21st

century.

After the new camera things will be better.

I did some follow ups yesterday and I only had the option of leaving

a message and they have not called back yet.

I still have the appointment for Jan 14th at Shriners for Zane. So,

we will see.

=)

I would like to help you if you need it.

I think Amber is in Starkville, Mississippi, just a coupla hours west of Mel-

sorta closer to the Alabama border than to my Louisiana border. How's that for

a precise geographical location? Betsy

Hey Everyone,

I got an email from Amber yesterday and she is doing Okay. Zane is

doing really well and I think she said his curve is down to 22

degrees, even though his RVA is still high. She is just going to

see what happens and hopefully his curve will stay the same or get

smaller. He has never progressed even with a high RVA.

She is seperated from Zane's Dad and is having a hard time with that.

I told her that we missed our " spunky " one.

Yes, I have used several kinds of amber in preparing both perfumes and

spirit varnishes for painting, including the Baltic/fossil variety of

amber, which is commonly dissolved in turpentine. Fossil amber has a

strong, acrid smell to it when pulverized, and most particularly when

it is warm. What sort of resin are you using?

You may find that warming your mixture will resolve the cloudiness of

your solution. Setting the container in warm water may suffice, but the

alcohol will fly. Luting the neck and cap of your bottle with a piece

of cloth dipped in some eggwhite and flour, which is then allowed to

dry,

will prevent the untimely evaporation of your spirits.
