Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, You're doing great with your LL breaths and your losses already. It's wonderful that your hubby is doing it with you. My husband lost quite a bit a couple of years go by doing deep breathing exercises while driving to and from work. I like you suggestion about doing a few LL breaths before you get out of bed in the morning I think I'll start doing that. I've been doing LL for about 4 yrs. I've lost 30+ lbs. and gone from a size 18 to between a 4/6 to a baggy 14. I've lost quite a bit of inches in my body by doing LL without any other exercises or dieting. I added LL walking to my routine several months ago to give my body a thrill and now I'm hooked. I love what the combination is doing for my most troublesome spot, my abs, they're getting flatter. hooray!!!!! I'm glad you're here!!!! Keep up the great work!!!! My " results " at this point are: * Lost 1/2 pound and 1/2 " from my waist. Don't see any loss yet through my hip measurement, but my belly is definitely smaller. * Yesterday wore a pair of shorts that I couldn't wear last summer! And they fit comfortably! * Woke up each morning clear-headed (rather than my usual groggy fog) at 6AM -- including Saturday and Sunday. When I first wake up, I do 3-4 Life Lift pelvic tilts (in bed), really seems to get me going. * My noon-time (very hilly) walk is getting easier and easier -- I had to wait at the crest of each hill today for my walking partner to huff and puff and catch up with me (and she is an in-shape 30-year old -- 1/2 my age!) My husband has even been joining me with the breathing exercises -- he is really impressed with my increased stamina and said that he didn't want to be left behind! On weekends, we take our dogs and go for a 3-4 mile walk -- this past weekend, we stopped and did 2 breathing exercises every so often (mainly when the critters wanted to stop and sniff something!). And he really likes how I'm getting up in the morning (he's a very-early morning person -- I always slept in on weekends a bit....). Question for le: I am going to take the initial video with me when I visit my 83-year-old mother (in July) and, if I can convince her to try this, have her start the exercises. She is starting to have difficulties standing (describes her legs as going numb) -- she has neuropathy, and her doctor holds out absolutely NO hope of recovery, he just said that she'll be in a wheel chair before long. Will some of these exercises help her, at least to the point of extending her ability to use her legs? So how is everyone else doing? I am really curious to hear others' results. And maybe how you've tweaked things to work for you (for example, I now do 2 breathing exercises [here at work] each time I go to the rest room -- figure it's an easy way to add a few more to my day). Guest guest
Hi Liz, What is LL walking? Any special technique? So far, when I walk, I stop to do an exercise -- can you do it and continue with your motion? (how do you tuck your rear in and still move forward????). Also, I noticed that I tend to hyperventilate faster than usual when I combine the breathing exercises with walking -- is this simply something I have to work through? I walk several miles each day, and at least 4 extra miles/day on weekends -- frequently I have a dog leash in one hand (though the critters are pretty patient when we stop and do our exercises) -- I would love to get even more good out of LL by combining it (correctly) with walking.... And wow, 30 pounds off! I'll be happy to lose 20-25 pounds, though 30 would put me back at high school weight -- it seems that all I've done for the past several years is diet and yet slowly gain weight..... Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, LL walking is just walking while doing LL breaths. I breathe pretty much throughout the walk. When I 1st started walking and doing LL together it was harder, but now it's old hat. I do notice though that some people can't combine the two. If you can't try doing 10 before, a couple throughout while your puppies sniff around, and then 10 when you're done.
